Grahan Yoga

According to its definition prevalent in Vedic astrology, if the Sun or Moon is placed with Rahu or Ketu in a horoscope, Grahan Yoga is formed in the horoscope. Through Grahan Yoga, Rahu and Ketu may cause damage to the general as well as specific significances of the Sun and Moon in a horoscope. Some astrologers believe that even if Rahu or Ketu afflicts Sun or Moon through aspect, Grahan Yoga is formed in the horoscope.

Damage to the general significances of Sun and Moon may cause problems related to courage, confidence, creativity, leadership abilities, immunity, father, emotional wellbeing, education and mother. Due to these issues, the native may underperform in many spheres of his life and he may also suffer from a wide variety of problems. Apart from this, Grahan Yoga may cause problems related to the specific significances of Sun and Moon in a horoscope. For example, if Sun rules the first in a horoscope, the native suffering from Grahan Yoga may face problems related to his health, overall wellbeing and lifespan; among other problems. Likewise, if Moon rules the seventh house in a horoscope, the native may face problems related to marriage; among other problems.

The word Grahan has more than one meaning and the one that is relevant in this context is to ‘eat’. This meaning suggests that Rahu or Ketu may eat Sun or Moon through Grahan Yoga. In practical language, Rahu or Ketu may destroy the general as well as specific significances of Sun or Moon through Grahan Yoga. Since Sun and Moon are the two most important planets in Vedic Astrology, afflictions to these planets may affect the overall theme and strength of a horoscope. Hence the native may face problems in many spheres of his life. This why Grahan Yoga is considered as one of the most troublesome yogas in Vedic astrology.

There are twelve houses in a horoscope. Hence the probability of Sun being placed with Rahu or Ketu in a particular house is 2 in 12. For example, if Sun is placed in the first house of a horoscope, the placement of Rahu or the placement of Ketu in the first house along with Sun will form Grahan Yoga according to its definition. The probability of Rahu being placed in 1 out of 12 houses is 1 in 12 and the same holds for the placement of Ketu. Hence the probability of one of them being placed with the Sun is 2 in 12. It means every sixth native is suffering from Grahan Yoga, merely on the basis of placement of Sun with Rahu or Ketu.

The same happens in case of the Moon. Hence every sixth native is suffering from Grahan Yoga, merely on the basis of placement of Moon with Rahu or Ketu. Combining these results; Grahan Yoga forms in almost every third horoscope. If we also consider the formation of this defect due to malefic aspects of Rahu and Ketu; Grahan Yoga will be formed, almost in 80% of the horoscopes. It means almost everyone should be affected by Grahan Yoga. This obviously doesn’t make any sense. Hence there must be other conditions which should be met in a horoscope; for the formation of Grahan Yoga in such a horoscope. Let’s see what these conditions are.

Starting with the basic rule; benefic planets form good yogas and malefic planets form bad yogas. Hence Rahu or Ketu must be functional malefic in a horoscope, in order to afflict Sun or Moon and form Grahan Yoga. It means if Rahu is afflicting Sun or Moon, Rahu should be malefic and the same holds for Ketu.

Looking at the probable combinations of Sun and Rahu in the same house of a horoscope; there are four such combinations. These are; a combination of benefic Sun with benefic Rahu, benefic Sun with malefic Rahu, malefic Sun with benefic Rahu and malefic Sun with malefic Rahu. Similarly, Sun and Ketu may also form four combinations in the same house of a horoscope. These are; a combination of benefic Sun with benefic Ketu, benefic Sun with malefic Ketu, malefic Sun with benefic Ketu and malefic Sun with malefic Ketu.

Looking at the probable combinations of Moon and Rahu in the same house of a horoscope; there are four such combinations. These are; a combination of benefic Moon with benefic Rahu, benefic Moon with malefic Rahu, malefic Moon with benefic Rahu and malefic Moon with malefic Rahu. Similarly, Moon and Ketu may also form four combinations in the same house of a horoscope. These are; a combination of benefic Moon with benefic Ketu, benefic Moon with malefic Ketu, malefic Moon with benefic Ketu and malefic Moon with malefic Ketu.

Looking at the combinations of Sun with Rahu; only two out of these four combinations may form Grahan Yoga. These two combinations are benefic Sun with malefic Rahu; and malefic Sun with malefic Rahu. The remaining two combinations may not result in the formation of Grahan Yoga in the horoscope. This is because Rahu is benefic in both these cases and benefic Rahu may not form Grahan Yoga. The same happens in case of combinations of Sun with Ketu. Only those two combinations may form Grahan Yoga where Ketu is malefic. Benefic Ketu with Sun may not form Grahan Yoga.

Looking at the combinations of Moon with Rahu; only two out of these four combinations may form Grahan Yoga. These two combinations are benefic Moon with malefic Rahu; and malefic Moon with malefic Rahu. The remaining two combinations may not result in the formation of Grahan Yoga in the horoscope. This is because Rahu is benefic in both these cases and benefic Rahu may not form Grahan Yoga. The same happens in case of combinations of Moon with Ketu. Only those two combinations may form Grahan Yoga where Ketu is malefic. Benefic Ketu with Moon may not form Grahan Yoga.

These calculations eliminate half the probabilities for the formation of Grahan Yoga in a horoscope. Looking at the next factor, when it comes to the aspect of malefic Rahu or Ketu on Sun or Moon; such aspect may not form Grahan Yoga. An aspect from malefic Rahu or Ketu may certainly cause damage to the significances of Sun or Moon. However, such damage may not be potent enough to cause effects like those created by a conjunction of malefic Rahu or Ketu with Sun or Moon. Hence the aspect relationship of malefic Rahu or Ketu with Sun or Moon may also be eliminated from this equation.

Looking at the resultant equation; only the conjunction of malefic Rahu or Ketu with Sun or Moon may be able to form Grahan Yoga in a horoscope. This gives us a more relevant definition of Grahan Yoga. If malefic Rahu or Ketu is placed in conjunction with Sun or Moon in a horoscope; Grahan Yoga is formed in the horoscope. Now that we have reached a relevant definition for Grahan Yoga, let’s look at other important facts associated with this yoga.

Some astrologers believe that malefic Rahu forms Grahan Yoga with Sun only and Ketu forms Grahan Yoga with Moon only. It means malefic Rahu with Moon and Malefic Ketu with Sun don’t form Grahan Yoga according to their beliefs. In my practice of Vedic astrology, I have not seen this belief hold any ground. Malefic Rahu can cause as much damage to the Moon as it can cause to the Sun. Likewise, malefic Ketu can inflict as much damage on the Sun as it can inflict on the Moon. Hence the conjunctions of malefic Rahu with Moon and malefic Ketu with Sun are fully capable of forming Grahan Yoga in a horoscope.

Once the formation of this yoga is confirmed in a horoscope, the next thing to check is its strength. The strength of Grahan Yoga is checked through the placement of Sun and Moon as well as Rahu or Ketu in different houses, signs, nakshatras and navamshas; as well as through the influences of other benefic and malefic planets on Sun and Moon as well as on Rahu or Ketu in a horoscope.

Moving on to the next factor; the influences of other benefic and malefic planets on Jupiter and Moon in a horoscope should also be checked properly, before predicting the results of Grahan Yoga. This is a major factor and it can change the results; significantly or completely. Let’s take an example to understand this concept in a better manner. Suppose a malefic combination of Sun and Rahu forms Grahan Yoga in the first house of a horoscope in Gemini. Such Grahan Yoga may trouble the native in various spheres of his life; depending on the rest of his horoscope. If malefic Mars is also placed in the first house of this horoscope, the problems may aggravate. Hence the native may suffer from problems which may be more in number and higher in quantum. The addition of malefic Saturn to the first house may further deteriorate this horoscope. Accordingly, the number as well as the quantum of problems faced by the native in this case may become much higher. Unless the rest of the horoscope is benefic and strong; the native may not achieve success in most spheres of his life with such malefic combination in the first house of his horoscope.

The next factor to check is the field of impact of Grahan Yoga. To calculate the field of impact, the house of placement of Grahan yoga as well as the influences of other benefic and malefic planets on this yoga should be checked. The formation of Grahan Yoga in various houses of a horoscope may trouble the native with different types of malefic results. For example, the formation of Grahan Yoga in the first house may cause problems related to health and lifespan of the native; among other problems. If Grahan Yoga is formed in the second house of a horoscope; the native may witness problems related to finances, speech, family and wealth among other problems.

The formation of Grahan Yoga in the third house of a horoscope may trouble the native with problems related to profession and siblings; among other problems. If Grahan Yoga is formed in the fourth house of a horoscope; the native may face problems related to his mother, education, properties and vehicles among other problems. Similarly, the formation of Grahan Yoga in other houses of a horoscope may cause different types of problems. The nature of these problems depends on the significances of the house where such Grahan Yoga is formed; as well as on the significances of the house ruled by Sun or Moon involved in this yoga.

The next factor to check is the time of activation of Grahan Yoga. Even when actually formed in a horoscope, any good or bad Yoga may not be activated from the time of birth of the native and the activation may vary from person to person. It means that Grahan Yoga present in different horoscopes may have different times of activation. Accordingly, different natives may start facing problems due to it during different ages.

Above all, the overall theme of the horoscope having Grahan yoga should be analyzed carefully as this is what matters the most. The overall theme of a horoscope is the most important aspect in it and it can change everything. Let’s take an example to understand this concept in a better manner. Suppose a malefic combination of Sun and Ketu forms Grahan Yoga in the tenth house of a horoscope in Scorpio. Looking at some facts, Sun rules the seventh house in this horoscope, tenth house deals with professional sphere, Sun has good strength in Scorpio and Ketu is exalted in Scorpio. Combining these facts; such Grahan Yoga may cause problems related to the profession as well as the marriage of the native.

Such Grahan Yoga may also cause problems related to this native’s health as well as those related to his father’s health and wellbeing. This is because Ketu forms Pitra Dosh along with Grahan Yoga; by afflicting the Sun. Now we need to look into the horoscope and see which of these spheres are covered by benefic planets; which ones are left uncovered and which ones are being targeted by other negative planets. Looking at profession; if Mars, Saturn and Jupiter are benefic and strong in the horoscope, the native may not face many problems related to his profession; despite the presence of Grahan Yoga in the tenth house. However, if these planets are malefic or weak; the native may face problems related to his profession. If at the same time; these planets are afflicted by malefic planets; the native may face serious problems related to his profession. More is the number of favorable factors related to profession; less may be the quantum of problems in the field of profession. More is the number of unfavorable factors related to profession; more may be the quantum of problems in the field of profession. In the same way, other fields like marriage and wellbeing of father should also be checked properly.

After this, the impact of running times should also be checked. The term ‘running times’ in this context means planetary periods, commonly known as Mahadashas. Running times are most important when it comes to check; when may the native suffer the most due to Grahan Yoga. Any type of good or bad yoga becomes duly effective, if one of the planets ‘actively involved’ in its formation rules the running time. Therefore, the native may witness the strongest malefic results of Grahan Yoga when he is hit by the planetary period of Rahu or Ketu. This simple looking fact may significantly change the quantum of troubles faced by a native under strong influence of Grahan Yoga.

The term ‘actively involved’ in this context means the planet which actually contributes towards the formation of a yoga. In the case of Grahan Yoga; Sun or Moon is passive as long as it is benefic. This is because benefic Sun or Moon may not cause problems but it may try to reduce them. Since Grahan yoga is supposed to be malefic; such benefic Sun or Moon should not be considered as an active planet for its formation. Hence the planetary period of Rahu or Ketu only may intensify Grahan Yoga. However, if Sun or Moon is also malefic in a horoscope featuring Grahan Yoga; Sun or Moon should also be considered as an active planet. This is because Sun or Moon may also try to intensify the problems by afflicting Rahu or Ketu. Hence the planetary period of Sun or Moon may also prove troublesome in this case.

In cases where Sun or Moon is benefic and Rahu or Ketu is malefic; Grahan Yoga may be relatively less troublesome. When both Sun or Moon and Rahu or Ketu are malefic in a horoscope; Grahan Yoga may cause problems of higher quantum. In this case, Sun or Moon may also get actively involved in the formation of a malefic yoga in the horoscope. Hence the planetary period of Sun or Moon as well as that of Rahu or Ketu may intensify the problems posed by Grahan Yoga. Let’s take an example to understand this concept in a better manner. Suppose malefic Sun and malefic Rahu form Grahan Yoga in the first house of a horoscope in Capricorn. Since both the planets involved in this yoga are malefic, the planetary periods of Sun and Rahu may intensify the problems indicated by such Grahan Yoga.

This yoga has formed in the first house. It means the health, lifespan and overall wellbeing of the native may be the primary targets of such Grahan yoga. Apart from this, the profession as well as the overall personality of the native may also be affected negatively. As a result, the native may suffer from various types of problems related to these spheres of his life; depending on his overall horoscope. Whenever the 6 year planetary period of Sun or the 18 year planetary period of Rahu strikes this native; such problems may intensify. Hence the native may receive maximum damage from such Grahan Yoga during these periods. In extreme cases, Grahan Yoga so formed in a horoscope can get the native killed in an accident or he may be murdered; during the planetary period of Sun or Rahu.

In case Grahan Yoga is formed in a horoscope due to a combination of more than one malefic planet; the planetary periods of all such malefic planets may trouble the native. Among these planetary periods; the planetary period of the strongest planet involved in Grahan Yoga may be the most troublesome, followed by the planetary period of the second strongest planet and so on.

You see, the definition of Grahan Yoga looks very simple. However, the actual process of calculating the malefic results indicated by Grahan Yoga in a horoscope is complex. Therefore, each and every aspect in a horoscope should be checked properly; before concluding the formation of Grahan Yoga in a horoscope or before predicting the type and quantum of malefic results indicated by it.

Billions of combinations are possible in a horoscope. That is why the overall theme of a horoscope is what matters the most. There are no doubts that if Grahan yoga of good strength is formed in a horoscope, the native may suffer from a number of problems. However, the types of problems faced by the native, the timing and the quantum of such problems are indicted by the overall theme of his horoscope.

Ruchaka Yoga

Ruchaka Yoga is formed by Mars in a horoscope and it is considered as one of the five most auspicious Yogas in Vedic astrology called Panch MahaPurusha Yogas where the other four Yogas in this class are Hamsa Yoga, Malavya Yoga, Bhadra Yoga and Shasha Yoga. According to the prevalent definition of Ruchaka Yoga, when Mars is present in Kendra or Center from Ascendant in a horoscope, which means when Mars is present in 1st, 4th, 7th or 10th house from Ascendant in a horoscope in any one of the three signs namely Aries, Scorpio and Capricorn, Ruchaka Yoga is formed in the horoscope.

Ruchaka Yoga can bless the native with many good things depending on the strength of this Yoga in the horoscope as well as on the overall horoscope of the native. Mars is the planet associated with courage, bravery, physical energy, quick actions, youth, immunity, research, reforms and many other good things according to Vedic astrology. Accordingly, the formation of Ruchaka Yoga in a horoscope can bless the native with success through the fields of profession which require the application of these qualities. Hence the natives benefitting from Ruchaka Yoga may achieve good results as athletes, sportsmen, body builders, police officers, army officers, naval officers, air force officers, other officers related to various types of defence services, politicians, ministers and many other types of professionals, depending on the overall theme of their horoscopes.

We know that all these qualities and achievements are found rarely and they are not found in a great number of people. Therefore the formation of Ruchaka Yoga in a horoscope should also be a rare phenomenon and it should not be something that may repeat in a number of horoscopes. This is because horoscopes only reflect our personalities and our destinies based on those personalities. Hence if a person is blessed with certain special attributes, they are shown in the horoscope also. Since the natives with such qualities are rare, it means there should not be many horoscopes featuring strong Ruchaka Yoga.

Analyzing the definition of Ruchaka Yoga, we can find out that according to its prevalent definition, this Yoga is present in every twelfth horoscope on average as there are only 12 houses and 12 signs in a horoscope. Looking at the formation of Ruchaka Yoga, Mars can form Ruchaka Yoga when present in 1st house in one of the three signs namely Aries, Scorpio and Capricorn, and hence the number of occurrences is 3. The same number of occurrences will be found in case of placements of Mars in 4th, 7th and 10th houses which makes a total of 12 occurrences of Ruchaka Yoga out of the total 144 placements of Mars in 12 different houses and in 12 different signs. Hence this Yoga should be present in every 12th horoscope on average and accordingly every 12th person should be blessed with great qualities and blessings rendered by this Yoga. This is obviously not the case in actual practice as such qualities and achievements are found rarely. It means there is more to the formation of Ruchaka Yoga in a horoscope and this Yoga can’t be confirmed merely on the basis of presence of Mars in some particular houses and in some particular signs in a horoscope.

The most important factor for the formation of Ruchaka Yoga in a horoscope is that Mars should be working as a benefic planet in the horoscope, apart from being placed in any one of the already mentioned houses in any one of the already mentioned signs. On the other hand, malefic Mars placed in any of the above mentioned four houses in any of the signs namely Aries, Scorpio and Capricorn may not form Ruchaka Yoga and it may form some defect in the horoscope which may trouble the native with many types of problems. This is because benefic yogas are made by benefic planets only. Malefic planets can’t bless a person with very good results in the long run, though they may sometimes give some temporary gains to some natives, if their overall horoscopes are supportive for such gains.

For example, malefic exalted Mars placed in first house of a horoscope in Aries, Scorpio or Capricorn can render enhanced physical energy, penetrating insight, bravery and courage to the native but the native may use them negatively. Though this native may witness short term gains by virtue of these qualities, if the overall horoscope is supportive for such gains; the results in the long run may be very bad. Similarly, malefic Mars present in any of the other three central houses of a horoscope can also cause problems for the native in one sphere of life or the other. Therefore, Mars must be a functional benefic in a horoscope, in order to form Ruchaka Yoga in such horoscope.

Hence the refined definition of Ruchaka Yoga says, if benefic Mars is placed in the any one of the central houses of a horoscope in any one of the signs namely Aries, Scorpio and Capricorn, Ruchaka Yoga is formed in such horoscope. This yoga may bless the native with success, fame, money, authority, recognition, awards, bravery, courage and many other good results; depending on the overall horoscope of the native in question.

Once the formation of Ruchaka Yoga is confirmed in a horoscope, the next thing to check is its strength. The strength of this Yoga is checked through the placement of Mars in different houses, different signs, different nakshatras and different navamshas, as well as through the influence of other positive or negative planets on Mars in a horoscope. For example, Ruchaka Yoga formed due to the presence of exalted Mars in the first house of a horoscope in Capricorn can bless the native with a post of high authority in the government or with top class success through some sport or business, depending on the overall horoscope. Hence the native may become a defence officer, sportsman, athlete, doctor businessman or a minister through politics, depending on the overall horoscope.

Moving on to conjunctions; if benefic exalted Mars forms Ruchaka Yoga in first house in Capricorn and benefic Saturn, Venus, Rahu, Moon, Jupiter or Mercury is placed with it; the results indicated by such Ruchaka Yoga may enhance and the native may benefit even more. The types of good results given by such benefic conjunctions depend on the planet which forms such conjunction as well as all on other important attributes related to such planet; like nakshatra and navamsha of such planet. For example, if benefic Saturn forming Shasha Yoga is placed in first house in Capricorn along with Ruchaka Yoga forming Mars; the native may achieve top class results through business or through politics; though some of these natives may succeed in government services also; especially the ones like administrative services. This placement is better for blessing the native with authority through professions other than defence services; like the native may become an administrative officer, a high ranked doctor with government, minister through politics, a revenue officer and other such posts.  This is because the placement of Saturn with Mars may change this native and instead of engaging in professions which demand more direct physical aggression; he may choose to engage in professions which require patience and planning, along with aggression.

However, if Mars forms Ruchaka Yoga in a horoscope and at the same time, it is present in conjunction with malefic planets; the benefic results of this yoga may be diluted or corrupted. For example, Ruchaka Yoga formed due to the presence of exalted Mars in the first house of a horoscope in Capricorn along with malefic Rahu, Ketu, Jupiter, Sun, Mercury; and in some cases Venus; may not be able to produce sufficient results. Though Saturn and Venus generally don’t work as malefic planets for Capricorn ascendant; they can do so under certain special conditions, the discussion of which is beyond the scope of present topic. If Mars is not very strong due to nakshatra or navamsha placement and the afflicting planet is strong due to nakshatra and navamsha placement; such malefic planet may corrupt the results of Ruchaka Yoga. As a result, the native may witness some benefits in the beginning but all such benefits may be lost due to such corruptions where these corruptions may vary depending on which planet is causing them and on the overall horoscope of the native.

For example, if Ruchaka Yoga is formed in first house of a horoscope in Capricorn and malefic Sun is placed with Mars in this house, this combination may become troublesome or very troublesome for the native; unless there are strong grace saving factors in his horoscope. The malefic energy of Sun may make this native prone to accidents, injuries, health problems, impulsive decisions, bad temperament, prejudiced opinions and many other problems due to which the native may suffer a lot throughout his life. For example, if such native is selected for defence services; the malefic influence of Sun can corrupt Ruchaka yoga and as a result; the native may misbehave with other recruits during training, he may engage in fight with some of them and he may even seriously injure one of them. As a result, the native may have to face disciplinary action from authorities and in worst cases where the overall horoscope is also not supportive; the native may be disqualified from such service; which means he may lose his job.

Looking at other possibilities, if the native gets through such problems or he doesn’t face them due to running times or overall horoscope; he is likely to have a troublesome career. Malefic Sun may add corruption to Ruchaka yoga. As a result, the native may have a bad career and most officers or subordinates may not be willing to work with him; though he may still be an officer with authority. Depending on the overall horoscope; this native may also develop personal hatred for criminals which is not a good thing since an officer of law should perform his duty and he should not make things personal. Similarly, the benefic results given by Ruchaka Yoga may be diluted or corrupted by other malefic planets in a horoscope; when such planets are placed in conjunction with exalted Mars in the first house.

The next factor to check is the time of activation of Ruchaka Yoga, like all other yogas. Even when actually formed in a horoscope, any good or bad Yoga may not be activated from the time of birth of the native and this activation may vary from person to person. It means that Ruchaka Yoga present in different horoscopes may have different times of activation and accordingly, different natives may start benefitting from it during different ages. This is why you see some people witnessing such benefits at early ages, some during middle ages and some may witness such benefits late in their lives.

After this, the overall theme of the horoscope having such Ruchaka Yoga should be analyzed carefully as this is what matters the most. The overall theme of a horoscope is the most important aspect in it and it can change everything. For example, if Ruchaka Yoga is formed due to the presence of exalted Mars in the first house of a horoscope in Capricorn and the overall theme of the horoscope is indicating authority in the house of government, this Yoga may bless the native with good results related to some type of authority. Looking deeper, if the horoscope is showing good education, significant amount of aggression, a lot of public dealing and engagement in dispute settlement due to the combination of various planets, the native may become a police officer. This is because the overall theme of his horoscope may push him to engage in a field of profession which requires public dealing and dispute settlement on regular basis. Since both these characteristics want to find outward expression, the native may become a police officer as the job of police officer requires very good amount of public dealing and dispute settlement.

However, if Ruchaka Yoga is present in the first house of a horoscope in Capricorn, the overall theme is authoritative and there are strong energies which may push this native towards discipline, aggression and away from public dealing, the native may join the army. This is because the native is brave, authoritative, more disciplined and he wants to stay away from public dealing. Hence this native may not try for a job in police force and he may look for a job in the army.

Looking at one more combination, if Ruchaka Yoga is formed in the first house of a horoscope in Capricorn and the overall theme of the horoscope supports income through business, the native may achieve good results through businesses related to the domain of Mars. Hence this native may engage in the field of sports goods, weapon manufacturing or sales, production or sales of supplements for increasing physical strength and stamina; and other such fields. Once again, the type of field chosen by the native and the quantum of success achieved by him depend on the overall theme of his horoscope. Many other such combinations are also possible and that is why the overall theme of a horoscope is what matters the most. There are no doubts that if Ruchaka Yoga of good strength forms in a horoscope, the native must benefit from it and he must achieve good results. However, the type of good results achieved by this native, the timing and the quantum of those good results is indicted by the overall theme of his horoscope.

Generally speaking, you can simply tell that something good is going to happen to the native having Ruchaka Yoga in his horoscope. Specifically speaking, you can’t tell what type of good, how much good and when can such good happen to this native. Therefore, the overall theme of the horoscope becomes very important if you’re interested in the detailed applications of Ruchaka Yoga or any other good or bad Yoga present in a horoscope.

Understanding Guru Chandal Yog

According to its definition prevalent in Vedic astrology, if Jupiter is placed with Rahu or Ketu in a horoscope, or they have a mutual aspect relationship in a horoscope; Guru Chandal Yoga is formed in the horoscope. Through this Yoga, Rahu and Ketu may cause damage to the general as well as specific significances of Jupiter in a horoscope.

Damage to the general significances of Jupiter can make the native indulge in immoral, unethical and illegal activities. The character and personality of such native may be corrupted. Hence the native may face a number of problems in various spheres of his life, due to his questionable acts. Apart from this, Guru Chandal Yoga may cause problems related to specific significances of Jupiter in a horoscope. For example, if Jupiter rules the seventh and tenth house in a horoscope, the native suffering from Guru Chandal Yoga may face problems related to his profession and marriage; among other problems.

How Guru Chandal Yog is Formed in a Horoscope

Guru is the name given to Jupiter in Vedic astrology whereas Rahu and Ketu have been called Chandal (a very evil person) here. Hence a combination of Jupiter with Rahu or Ketu either by means of placement or by means of aspect, is said to form Guru Chandal Yog in the horoscope. For example, if Jupiter is placed in the first house of a horoscope along with Rahu or Ketu, Guru Chandal Yoga is said to be formed in the horoscope. Similarly, if Jupiter is placed in the first house of a horoscope and it is having an aspect relationship with Rahu or Ketu which may be present in the fifth or ninth house of the horoscope, Guru Chandal Yoga is said to be formed in the horoscope.

There are twelve houses in a horoscope. It means that the probability of Jupiter being placed with Rahu or Ketu in a particular house is 2 in 12. Suppose Jupiter is placed in the first house of a horoscope. The probability of Rahu being placed in 1 out of 12 houses is 1 in 12 and the same holds for the placement of Ketu. Hence the probability of one of them being placed with Jupiter is 2 out of twelve. It means every sixth native is suffering from this Yog, merely on the basis of placement of Jupiter with Rahu or Ketu.

Since the placement of Rahu or Ketu in the fifth or ninth house may also result in the formation of Guru Chandal Yoga in this case, the overall probability increases further. It means the placement of Rahu in the first, fifth or ninth house of this horoscope forms this Yoga. Rahu and Ketu remain separated by 180 degrees. Hence they are always placed in the seventh house with respect to each other. It means if Rahu is placed in the first house, Ketu is placed in the seventh house. Hence they can’t be placed in the same house. As a result, the placement of Ketu in the first, fifth or ninth house will also form Guru Chandal Yoga in this case. Hence 6 out of 12 probabilities result in the formation of this Yoga in the horoscope. It means every second native is suffering from this Yoga.

Accordingly, every second native should suffer from problems indicated by Guru Chandal Yog. However, this is not happening in reality.  Hence the prevalent definition of Guru Chandal Yoga is not complete and it lacks something. Let’s see which other conditions should be met in a horoscope for the formation of this Yoga. Starting with the basic rule; benefic planets form good yogas and malefic planets form bad yogas. Hence Rahu or Ketu must be a functional malefic in a horoscope, in order to afflict Jupiter and form Guru Chandal Yog. It means if Rahu is afflicting Jupiter, Rahu should be malefic and the same holds for Ketu.

Looking at the probable combinations of Jupiter and Rahu in the same house of a horoscope; there are four such combinations. These are; a combination of benefic Jupiter with benefic Rahu, benefic Jupiter with malefic Rahu, malefic Jupiter with benefic Rahu and malefic Jupiter with malefic Rahu. Similarly, Jupiter and Ketu may also form four combinations in the same house of a horoscope. These are; a combination of benefic Jupiter with benefic Ketu, benefic Jupiter with malefic Ketu, malefic Jupiter with benefic Ketu and malefic Jupiter with malefic Ketu.

Looking at the combinations of Jupiter and Rahu; only two out of these four combinations may form Guru Chandal Yog. These two combinations are benefic Jupiter with malefic Rahu; and malefic Jupiter with malefic Rahu. The remaining two combinations may not result in the formation of this Yoga in the horoscope. This is because Rahu is benefic in both these cases and benefic Rahu may not form Guru Chandal Yoga. The same happens in case of combinations of Jupiter with Ketu. Only those two combinations may form this Yoga where Ketu is malefic. Benefic Ketu with Jupiter may not form this Yoga.

These calculations eliminate half the probabilities for the formation of Guru Chandal Yoga in a horoscope. Looking at the next factor, when it comes to the aspect of malefic Rahu or Ketu on Jupiter; such an aspect may not form Guru Chandal Yog. An aspect from malefic Rahu or Ketu may certainly cause damage to the significances of Jupiter. However, such damage may not be potent enough to cause effects like those created by a conjunction of malefic Rahu or Ketu with Jupiter. Hence the aspect relationship of malefic Rahu or Ketu with Jupiter may also be eliminated from this equation.

Actual Definition of Guru Chandal Yoga

Looking at the resultant equation; only the conjunction of malefic Rahu or Ketu with Jupiter may be able to form this Yoga in a horoscope. This gives us a more relevant definition of this Yoga. If malefic Rahu or Ketu is placed in conjunction with Jupiter in a horoscope; Guru Chandal Yoga is formed in the horoscope. Now that we have reached a relevant definition for this Yoga, let’s look at other important facts associated with this yoga.

Calculating the Strength of Guru Chandal Yoga

Once the formation of this yoga is confirmed in a horoscope, the next thing to check is its strength. The strength of this Yoga is checked through the placement of Jupiter and Rahu or Ketu in different houses, signs, nakshatras and navamshas; as well as through the influences of other benefic and malefic planets on Jupiter and Rahu or Ketu in a horoscope.

Looking at the signs, malefic effects of Guru Chandal Yoga formed by Jupiter and malefic Rahu may decrease considerably if this Yoga is formed in Pisces or Scorpio. This is because Rahu is debilitated in both these signs whereas Jupiter is strong in these signs. Hence such malefic Rahu may not cause much damage to the significances of Jupiter. Likewise, malefic effects of this Yoga formed by Jupiter and malefic Ketu may reduce considerably if this yoga is formed in Cancer. Jupiter is exalted in Cancer and Ketu is not strong in Cancer. Hence such exalted Jupiter may be able to fight afflictions caused by Ketu; in an effective manner. In the same way, the quantum of problems caused by Guru Chandal Yoga may be different in all other signs.

Looking at the next factor, the influences of other benefic and malefic planets on Jupiter and Rahu or Ketu in a horoscope should also be checked properly, before predicting the results of Guru Chandal Yoga. This is a major factor and it can change the results; significantly or completely. For instance, influences of suitable benefic planets on this yoga in the present example may bring the much needed relief to the native. Suppose a benefic combination of Moon, exalted Mars, Venus and Ketu forms Chandra Mangal Yoga as well as Ruchaka Yoga in the seventh house of this horoscope in Capricorn. The strong benefic aspects of various planets in the seventh house may apply significant corrections to Guru Chandal Yoga formed in the first house of this horoscope.

As a result, the native may witness good or very good results in various spheres of his life; depending on the rest of his horoscope; despite the presence of Guru Chandal Yoga in his horoscope. If benefic Sun is placed in the fifth house in Scorpio and Mercury is placed in the sixth house in Sagittarius; the results may become even better. The placement of Saturn in the eleventh house in Taurus may further enhance the benefic results. In such case, the overall positive and strong theme of this horoscope may be able to draw benefic results; even from a malefic yoga like Guru Chandal Yoga. As mentioned a number of times; the overall theme of a horoscope is the most important factor in it; as it can change anything and everything.

Impact of Guru Chandal Yoga

The next factor to check is the field of impact of this Yoga. To calculate the field of impact, the house of placement of this yoga as well as the influences of other benefic and malefic planets on this yoga should be checked. The formation of Guru Chandal Yoga in various houses of a horoscope may trouble the native with different types of malefic results. For example, the formation of this Yoga in the first house of a horoscope may cause problems related to health, lifespan and profession of the native. On the other hand, the formation of this Yoga in the seventh house of a horoscope may primarily cause problems related to the marriage of the native. If this Yoga is formed in the sixth house of a horoscope; the native may engage in various types of crimes and he may face legal punishment more than once in his life.

The formation of Guru Chandal Yoga in the fifth house may adversely affect the wellbeing of the children of the native whereas the formation of this yoga in the ninth house may adversely affect the wellbeing of the father of the native. In the latter case, Pitra Dosh will also be formed in the horoscope; aggravating the problems. The placement of Guru Chandal Yoga in the fourth house may adversely affect the wellbeing of native’s mother whereas the presence of this yoga in the tenth house may primarily affect the professional sphere of this native. Hence the field of impact of this Yoga should be calculated in order to assess which spheres of native’s life may be hit by this yoga.

Activation of Guru Chandal Yoga

The next factor to check is the time of activation of this Yoga. Even when actually formed in a horoscope, any good or bad Yoga may not be activated from the time of birth of the native and the activation may vary from person to person. It means that Guru Chandal Yoga present in different horoscopes may have different times of activation. Accordingly, different natives may start facing problems due to it during different ages. Above all, the overall theme of the horoscope having Guru Chandal yoga should be analyzed carefully as this is what matters the most. The overall theme of a horoscope is the most important aspect in it and it can change everything.

Suppose Guru Chandal Yoga is formed in a horoscope. At the same time; the horoscope features a strong benefic Yoga like Ruchaka Yoga, Bhadra Yoga, Shasha Yoga, Budhaditya Yoga or Chandra Mangal Yoga. If the horoscope features more than one of these yogas and the remaining planets are also strong; the overall theme of such horoscope may become positive and strong enough to handle such Guru Chandal Yoga. Taking an example, suppose a combination of Jupiter and Rahu forms this Yoga in the tenth house of a horoscope in Sagittarius. Benefic exalted Venus forms Malavya Yoga in the first house and benefic exalted Mercury forms Bhadra Yoga in the seventh house. A benefic combination of exalted Moon and Mars forms Chandra Mangal Yoga in the third house of this horoscope in Taurus; Sun is placed in the sixth house in Leo, Venus is placed in the eighth house in Libra and Saturn is placed in the eleventh house in Capricorn. In this case, the horoscope becomes positive and strong enough to make positive use of Guru Chandal Yoga. Hence the native may witness top class results in many spheres of his life; despite the presence of Guru Chandal Yoga in his horoscope.

Impact of Running Times

After this, the impact of running times should also be checked. The term ‘running times’ in this context means planetary periods, commonly known as Mahadashas. Running times are most important when it comes to check; when may the native suffer the most due to Guru Chandal Yoga. Any type of good or bad yoga becomes duly effective, if one of the planets ‘actively involved’ in its formation rules the running time. When both Jupiter and Rahu or Ketu are malefic in a horoscope; Guru Chandal Yoga may cause problems of higher quantum.

You see, the definition of Guru Chandal Yog looks very simple. However, the actual process of calculating the malefic results indicated by this Yoga in a horoscope is complex. Therefore, each and every aspect in a horoscope should be checked properly; before concluding the formation of Guru Chandal Yoga in a horoscope or before predicting the type and quantum of malefic results indicated by it.

What is Gaj Kesari Yog

It is among one of the most prominent yogas featured in Vedic Astrology. According to its definition prevalent in Vedic astrology, when Jupiter is in Kendra from Moon, which means when Jupiter is in house number 1, 4, 7 or 10 from Moon, Gaj Kesari Yog is formed in the horoscope. It can bless the native with fame, success, wealth, authority, creativity, spiritual growth and many other good results.

Prevalent Definition

We know that there are only 12 houses in a horoscope and Jupiter can be present in any one of these 12 houses. When we count from the house of placement of Moon, the presence of Jupiter in 4 out of 12 houses leads to the formation of Gaj Kesari Yog in every third horoscope. For example, if Moon is placed in the first house of a horoscope, placement of Jupiter in the first, fourth, seventh or tenth house of this horoscope will form this Yoga in the horoscope, according to its prevalent definition. Hence the presence of Jupiter in 4 out of 12 houses of a horoscope leads to the formation of this Yoga.

It means that randomly, every third person is having Gaj Kesari Yoga in his horoscope. Accordingly, every third person on this earth should witness the good results indicated by this yoga. Analyzing this definition further, Moon transits a sign for two and a half days approximately. Jupiter stays in a sign for about one year on average. The formation of this Yoga is decided by the placement of Jupiter from Moon. It means Gaj Kesari Yog once formed stays active for about two and a half days since none of the two planets may change its position during this period of time.

It means that all the people born across the world during such two and a half days will have Gaj Kesari Yoga in their horoscopes. The fact that this Yoga is found in almost every third horoscope and the fact that it remains active for about two and a half days; are hard to justify practically. This is because the good results associated with this Yoga are rare and they are not found in case of every third native. It should also be noted that most good and bad Yogas in Vedic astrology don’t remain active continuously even for a few hours, let alone a period of two and a half days. Hence there must be something more to the formation of Gaj Kesari Yog than what has been mentioned in the prevalent definition of this yoga.

Formation of Gaj Kesari Yoga

The primary condition for the formation of any benefic yoga in a horoscope is that all the planets involved in the formation of such yoga should be benefic in that horoscope. Therefore, in order for Gaj Kesari Yoga to be formed in a horoscope, both Jupiter and Moon should be benefic in that horoscope. Moon and Jupiter can broadly make four combinations when present in the same house of a horoscope. Out of these four combinations, the combination of benefic Jupiter with benefic Moon may result in the formation of Gaj Kesari Yoga.

On the other hand, the remaining three combinations; the combination of benefic Jupiter with malefic Moon, malefic Jupiter with benefic Moon and malefic Jupiter with malefic Moon may not lead to the formation of this Yog in the horoscope. This is because in all these combinations, either one or both the planets are malefic. Hence these combinations may not result in the formation of Gaj Kesari Yoga. Instead, they may form malefic yogas, where the malefic planet may hit the general as well as the specific significances of the benefic planet.

For example, the significances of Jupiter may suffer when this combination is present in a horoscope and Jupiter is benefic whereas Moon is malefic. As a result, the native may face problems in many spheres of his life, related to the general as well as specific significances of Jupiter. Such native may face problems related to overall fortune, luck, children, wisdom and spiritual growth; as these are the general significances of Jupiter. If Jupiter represents the seventh house in such horoscope, the native may face problems related to his marriage, as the marriage of this native becomes a specific significance of Jupiter in this case.

Similarly, the general as well as specific significances of Moon may suffer when malefic Jupiter is present in the same house with benefic Moon. As a result, the native may face problems related to peace of mind, emotional disturbances, problems related to mother and other types of problems which relate to the general significances of Moon. Looking at specific types of problems, if Moon represents the tenth house in a horoscope, the native may face various types of problems related to his profession, as the affairs of the tenth house are specific significances of Moon in this horoscope.

The worst type of combination is found in cases where both Jupiter and Moon are malefic. The significances of both Jupiter and Moon may suffer in one such case. This can cause serious problems for the native and no Gaj Kesari Yoga may be formed in the horoscope. In this case, malefic Jupiter may hit the significances of malefic Moon and malefic Moon may hit the significances of malefic Jupiter. Hence this combination may prove very bad for the native and he may have to suffer a lot in many spheres of his life, depending on his overall horoscope.

In all these combinations, whether Jupiter or Moon may dominate the other depends on the strength of these planets as well as on the overall theme of the horoscopes in question. For example, if malefic Jupiter is placed with malefic Moon in Pisces or Sagittarius, the significances of Moon may be hit more than the significances of Jupiter. This is because Jupiter is stronger in Pisces and Sagittarius. Hence it may dominate the results of this combination, whether such results are benefic or malefic. If Jupiter placed in Pisces or Sagittarius is benefic and Moon placed along with Jupiter in one of these signs is malefic, the resultant may not be destructive, though it may still be troublesome. This is due to the reason that benefic Jupiter is stronger than malefic Moon in this case. Hence it may be able to reduce the damage caused by malefic Moon.

On the other hand, if a combination of malefic Jupiter and malefic exalted Moon is placed in Taurus, the significances of Jupiter may be affected much more than the significances of Moon. This is because Moon is stronger in Taurus, compared to Jupiter. Hence Moon may dominate this combination. It means Moon may be able to reduce the damage caused by Jupiter and it may also be able to cause more damage to Jupiter. Similarly, if malefic Jupiter is placed with benefic Moon in Taurus, the resultant though malefic; may not cause problems of high degree. This is due to the reason that benefic Moon is stronger than malefic Jupiter and hence it may reduce the damage caused by Jupiter.

Benefic Jupiter and Moon Form Gaj Kesari Yog

Coming back to the definition, both Jupiter and Moon should be benefic in a horoscope, in order to form this Yoga in such horoscope. Once we are sure about the formation of Gaj Kesari Yog in a horoscope, the next thing to check is its strength. The strength of this Yoga is checked through the placement of Jupiter and Moon in different houses, signs, nakshatras and navamshas; as well as through the influences of other benefic and malefic planets on Jupiter and Moon in a horoscope. Gaj Kesari Yoga formed due to the placement of benefic Jupiter and Moon in the same house of a horoscope is stronger than other variations of this yoga. Hence we will discuss only those examples of this yog where Jupiter and Moon are placed in the same house of a horoscope; in order to understand the true potential of this yoga.

Looking at the signs, benefic results of Gaj Kesari Yoga may decrease considerably if this Yoga is present in Capricorn or Scorpio; as Jupiter and Moon respectively are debilitated in these signs. As a result, weak Jupiter or weak Moon may not contribute much towards this Yoga; even when both these planets are benefic in a horoscope. On the other hand, if this Yoga is formed in Cancer, Taurus, Sagittarius or Pisces; the results may be very good. Such Gaj Kesari Yoga may bless the native with various types of good results, depending on the overall theme of his horoscope.

Moving on to the next factor, influences of other benefic and malefic planets on Jupiter and Moon in a horoscope should also be checked properly, before predicting results of Gaj Kesari Yoga. This is a major factor and it can change the results; significantly or completely. For example, if malefic exalted Mars is placed in Capricorn along with benefic debilitated Jupiter and benefic Moon; the results may not be good. Though in theory, Gaj Kesari Yoga may form in this case; the practical results of this combination may be bad or very bad for the native. As we can see, Jupiter is debilitated in this case. Hence weak Gaj Kesari Yoga may be formed. Malefic Mars is very strong due to exaltation. As a result, it may seriously afflict both Jupiter and Moon; especially Jupiter, as it is very weak. Hence the resultant nature of this combination may become malefic though Moon and Jupiter are benefic. It means malefic exalted Mars alone is capable of destroying good results indicated by Gaj Kesari Yoga in this case. As a result, the native may not experience much good happening to him; despite the formation of Gaj Kesari Yoga in his horoscope. On other hand, he may face various types of problems from time to time; depending on his overall horoscope.

Field of Impact

The next factor to check is the field of impact of Gaj Kesari Yoga. To calculate field of impact, the house of placement of this yoga as well as the influences of other benefic and malefic planets on this yoga should be checked. Just like signs, formation of Gaj Kesari Yoga in various houses of a horoscope may bless the native with different types of benefic results. For example, the formation of Gaj Kesari Yoga in the first house of a horoscope in Cancer may bless the native with a post of authority in the government. Neechbhang Rajyoga

According to its prevalent definition, the debilitation status of a planet in debilitation is cancelled and Neechbhang Rajyoga is formed if any one of these conditions is met in a horoscope:

If a debilitated planet is placed with an exalted planet in a horoscope, Neechbhang Rajyoga is formed in the horoscope. For example, if Venus and Mercury are placed in Pisces where Mercury is debilitated and Venus is exalted; Neechbhang Rajyoga is formed.

If the lord of the sign of debilitation of a planet is placed with the debilitated planet or it aspects the debilitated planet in a horoscope, Neechbhang Rajyoga is formed in the horoscope. For example, if Jupiter being the lord of Pisces is placed in Pisces along with debilitated Mercury or Jupiter aspects Mercury from Virgo; Neechbhang Rajyoga is formed.

If two debilitated planets are placed in the seventh signs with respect to each other and they aspect each other, Neechbhang Rajyoga is formed in the horoscope. For example, Mercury in Pisces and Venus in Virgo form such Neechbhang Rajyoga.

If the lord of the sign of debilitation of a debilitated planet is either exalted or it is placed in a Kendra (central) house in a horoscope, Neechbhang Rajyoga is formed in the horoscope. For example, if debilitated Mercury is placed in Pisces and Jupiter is placed in Cancer or in any one of the central houses of a horoscope; Neechbhang Rajyoga is formed in the horoscope.

If the lord of the sign of exaltation of a debilitated planet is exalted or placed in a central house of a horoscope, Neechbhang Rajyoga is formed in the horoscope. For example, if debilitated Jupiter is placed in Capricorn and Moon being the lord of Cancer which is the sign of exaltation of Jupiter is placed in Taurus or in any one of central houses of a horoscope; Neechbhang Rajyoga is formed in the horoscope.

If a debilitated planet becomes Vargottama in a horoscope which means it occupies the same sign in birth chart as well as in navamsha chart, Neechbhang Rajyoga is formed in the horoscope. For example, if debilitated Mercury is placed in the fourth part of Revati nakshatra, Mercury becomes Vargottama in the horoscope since it is placed in Pisces in the birth chart as well as in navamsha chart. Hence Neechbhang Rajyoga is formed in the horoscope.

The formation of Neechbhang Rajyoga may bless the native with name, fame, success, authority, wealth and many other good results.

Starting the discussion, there are so many probabilities which form Neechbhang Rajyoga in a horoscope according to its prevalent definition; that it is not even worth considering the statistics. Hence, let’s skip that part and let’s look at the conclusion. The resultant of all these conditions indicates that almost every horoscope which has a debilitated planet in it may feature Neechbhang Rajyoga in it. On average, one or more debilitated planets may be found in every second horoscope. It means every second horoscope features Neechbhang Rajyoga.

Like the definitions for a number of other yogas in Vedic astrology, this definition also doesn’t hold good in reality. It means this definition lacks something. Let’s try to find a relevant definition for Neechbhang Rajyoga. Let’s start by looking at the conditions mentioned in the prevalent definition of Neechbhang Rajyoga. The placement of a debilitated planet with an exalted planet may form Neechbhang Rajyoga in a horoscope, under specific conditions. The placement of a debilitated planet with the lord of its sign of debilitation may form Neechbhang Rajyoga in a horoscope, under specific conditions.

An aspect from the lord of the sign of debilitation to a debilitated planet may not form Neechbhang Rajyoga in a horoscope. The placement of two debilitated planets in the seventh signs with respect to each other may not form Neechbhang Rajyoga in a horoscope. Likewise, none of the other conditions mentioned in the prevalent definition of Neechbhang Rajyoga may result in the formation of Neechbhang Rajyoga in a horoscope.

This leaves us with two conditions; the placement of a debilitated planet with an exalted planet and the placement of a debilitated planet with the lord of its sign of debilitation. These two conjunctions may form Neechbhang Rajyoga in a horoscope, if both the planets involved in such conjunctions are benefic in the horoscope in question. If one or both the planets are malefic; Neechbhang Rajyoga may not be formed in the horoscope.

Once we are sure about the formation of Neechbhang Rajyoga in a horoscope, the next thing to check is its strength. The strength of Neechbhang Rajyoga is checked through the placement of the planets forming this yoga in different houses, signs, nakshatras and navamshas; as well as through the influences of other benefic or malefic planets on these planets in a horoscope.

Let’s start with signs. Though a debilitated planet may form Neechbhang Rajyoga with an exalted planet or with the lord of its sign of debilitation; the results may vary for different planets. For example, Neechbhang Rajyoga formed by a benefic combination of debilitated Sun and Venus in Libra may produce better results than the one formed by a benefic combination of debilitated Sun and exalted Saturn in the same sign, in most cases.

Moving on to the next factor, influences of other benefic or malefic planets on the planets forming Neechbhang Rajyoga in a horoscope should be checked carefully. This is a major factor and it can change the results; significantly or completely. Let’s take an example to understand this concept in a better manner. Suppose a benefic combination of debilitated Mercury and Jupiter form Neechbhang Rajyoga in the seventh house of a horoscope in Pisces. Looking at some facts, Mercury rules the first and tenth house, Jupiter rules the fourth and seventh house; and this yoga is placed in the seventh house. It means the formation of this yoga in the seventh house may produce benefic results related to health, lifespan, personality, mother, education, properties, vehicles, marriage, profession and reputation. Benefic Jupiter may also form Hamsa Yoga in the seventh house, since it is placed in Pisces.

Suppose malefic Mars forms Manglik Dosh in the seventh house of this horoscope in Pisces. In this case, the results of this yoga may get diluted. Malefic Mars may not cause much damage to Jupiter since it is strong in Pisces. However, it may cause significant damage to Mercury since it is debilitated in Pisces. It means such malefic Mars may create issues related to marriage, mother and education of the native; but these issues should be manageable; if the rest of the horoscope is supportive. On the other hand, the effect of malefic Mars on health, lifespan and profession of this native may be stronger. Hence the native may face more problems related to these spheres of his life.

Suppose malefic exalted Ketu is also placed in the seventh house of this horoscope in Pisces along with Jupiter, Mars and Mercury. The problem may intensify in this case since Ketu may form Guru Chandal Yoga by afflicting Jupiter. Since Ketu is exalted in Pisces, the damage may be serious. As a result, Jupiter may lose significant amount of strength due to affliction from Ketu and such Neechbhang Rajyoga may become weak or very weak; depending on the finer factors. It should be noted that the formation of Neechbhanga Rajyoga is based on the strength of the stronger planet since the other one is always debilitated. Hence when Jupiter loses strength, Neechbhang Rajyoga also loses strength. In this case, the overall nature of this combination may become malefic; though it may not be highly malefic. Hence the native may not witness much benefit due to Neechbhang Rajyoga and he may instead face problems from time to time.
