Venus Characteristics/Traits
Venus is considered as a moist, warm and female planet in Vedic astrology. Looking at its characteristics/traits/significances; it represents women, wife, lover (for males), genitals, beauty, charm, charisma, magnetism, luxury, glamour, comforts, pleasures, tastes, addictions, creativity, caring, sharing, sensuality, sensitivity, fairness, diplomacy, justice, emotions; the ability to produce children in case of female natives (along with Moon), marketing skills and a number of other things.
Venus rules Kapha (water) element in body though it may not have that much control over this element as Moon does. Natives who have weak/afflicted Venus in their horoscopes may suffer from problems related to diabetes, digestion, kidneys, genitals and sexual performance among other issues. In case of female natives, they may also suffer from various types of problems related to reproductive system. Such problems may make it difficult for them to conceive and deliver. Hence they may face difficulties in producing children. Strong afflictions to Venus may cause abortions or miscarriages. When supported by overall horoscope; strong benefic Venus may also bless the native with a post of high authority in government as an officer or through politics.
Female natives under strong influence of benefic Venus may be very good at attracting males as well as females; without much effort. Hence such natives may not have much problem when it comes to find dating partners. However when it comes to marriage; the role of Jupiter is more important. Male natives under strong influence of Venus may be good at attracting females and they may be lucky when it comes to dating, love affairs and marriage. Taking an example, Venus may perform relatively well in Pisces navamsha of Uttaraphalguni and Taurus navamsha of Hasta; within the sign of Virgo. On the other hand, it may perform very poorly in Virgo navamsha of Chitra; within the sign of Virgo. Taking another example; Venus may be very strong in Taurus navamsha of Rohini within the sign of Taurus whereas it may be strong but not very strong in Virgo navamsha of Mrigashira within the sign of Taurus.
Affliction to Venus from malefic planets may result in formation of various types of defects. On the other hand, benefic and clean Venus may form good yogas in horoscope. Among them; Malavya Yoga is a prominent one.
