Retrograde Saturn in 1st House in Scorpio
When retrograde Saturn is placed in the first house of a horoscope in Scorpio, Scorpio rises in the ascendant. Saturn rules the third and fourth house. In general, it is partly benefic and partly malefic here, though the benefic part is higher, in most cases. The concept of various planets exhibiting tendencies to be benefic or malefic on the basis of the houses they rule in a horoscope has been explained in the book ‘Gemstones: Magic or Science?’.
Retrograde Saturn in the first house of horoscope in Scorpio is benefic in many cases, though it may turn malefic in some cases. It may happen when such Saturn is influenced by one or more malefic planets, and/or an overall malefic horoscope. When benefic in nature, retrograde Saturn in the first house of a horoscope in Scorpio can bless the native with good results related to siblings, colleagues, mother, education, wealth, properties, vehicles, health, lifespan, profession, finances, reputation, authority, recognition, fame and several other good results, depending on his/her overall horoscope and running times.
Such retrograde Saturn can render several good results to the native, related to or through his siblings. He may have good relationships with his siblings. They may come across success, money, fame, and/or authority, and the native may witness many benefits due to them. They may stand by the native and they may help him get out of his problems, many times in his life. A sibling of the native may give him a big amount of money, and/or wealth, while such sibling is alive, and/or through his/her will. A sibling of the native may sacrifice his/her life or kill someone, in order to save native’s life.

Such retrograde Saturn can bless the native with authority in government as a police officer, army, air force, naval, revenue, administrative, foreign services officer, judge, doctor, scientist, engineer, politician or some other type of professional. Taking an example, suppose benefic retrograde Saturn is placed in the first house of a horoscope in Scorpio. Benefic Sun is placed in the ninth house in Cancer with Venus and debilitated Mars, Mercury is placed in the eighth house in Gemini, benefic Rahu is placed in the fifth house in Pisces, and Ketu is placed in the eleventh house in Virgo. In this case, the native may become a police officer, and he may witness good amount of success, recognition and authority.
If benefic Jupiter is placed in the sixth house in Aries, and benefic Moon is placed in the ninth house in Cancer with Sun, Venus and Mars, the equation may become better. In this case, the native may achieve success in civil exams, and he may get selected for the highest possible direct rank in police force. He may serve at several important posts, he may accomplish a lot during his career, and he may come across very good amount of success, recognition and authority. He may hate crime, but not the criminals. Hence, he may motivate and/or help several criminals get out of their lives of crime. The police force as well as several criminals may respect him for his good conducts. On the other hand, malefic retrograde Saturn in the first house of a horoscope in Scorpio can trouble the native with problems related to siblings, colleagues, mother, education, wealth, properties, vehicles, health, lifespan, profession, finances, reputation, authority, recognition and several other problems, depending on his/her overall horoscope and running times.
Saturn rules the third and fourth house, and it is placed in the first house. If such Saturn is influenced by malefic planets, and/or an overall malefic horoscope, the native may witness various types of problems related to or through his mother and/or siblings. For example, he may have bad relationships with his siblings, and/or he may witness various types of problems through them or due to them. It means a sibling may keep creating problems for the native, or such sibling may keep falling into problems, and the native may have to get him/her out. The native may have siblings who may be criminals, and/or drug addicts, and he may face several problems because of them. In an extreme case, the native may lose one or more siblings to death, before their ages of 40 or 30.
He may witness delays, financial losses, setbacks, failures, job loss, bad reputation and several other problems related to or through his profession. He may also suffer from various types of physical as well as mental health problems which may trouble him, and they may reduce his lifespan. Taking an example, suppose retrograde Saturn is placed in the first house of a horoscope in Scorpio with malefic Mercury. Malefic Rahu is placed in the fourth house in Aquarius with malefic Venus, Ketu is placed in the tenth house in Leo, benefic Sun is placed in the second house in Sagittarius, and retrograde Jupiter is placed in the eighth house in Gemini. In this case, the native may suffer from a mental health problem which may trouble him a lot. He may have to avail treatment for many years, and he may also have to spend some time in a mental asylum.
If debilitated Moon is placed in the first house in Scorpio with Saturn and Mercury, and retrograde Mars is placed in the fourth house in Aquarius with Rahu and Venus, the equation may become more troublesome. In this case, the native may suffer from a serious mental disorder like schizophrenia, and he may never get rid of it, despite availing medical treatment and therapy. If the finer factors and running times are very bad, he may kill himself between his age of 30 and 40.
