Retrograde Mercury in Second House in Sagittarius

When retrograde Mercury is placed in the second house of a horoscope in Sagittarius, Scorpio rises in the ascendant. Mercury rules the eighth and eleventh house. In general, it is partly benefic and partly malefic here, though the malefic part is higher, in most cases. Retrograde Mercury in the second house of horoscope in Sagittarius is malefic in many cases, though it may turn benefic in some cases. It may happen when such Mercury is influenced by one or more benefic planets, and/or an overall benefic horoscope. If benefic retrograde Jupiter is placed in the tenth house in Leo, the equation may become better. If benefic retrograde Saturn is placed in the ninth house in Cancer, the equation may become better. In this case, the native may achieve success in civil exams, and he may get selected for the highest possible direct rank in revenue services. He may serve at several important posts, and he may come across very good amount of success, recognition and authority. If the finer factors and running times are supportive, he may serve at one of the top 2 ranks in revenue services, before retirement.

On the other hand, malefic retrograde Mercury in the second house of a horoscope in Sagittarius can trouble the native with problems related to friends, lifespan, family, wealth, speech, profession, finances, reputation, authority, recognition and several other problems, depending on his/her overall horoscope and running times.

Mercury rules the eighth and eleventh house, and it is placed in the second house. If such retrograde Mercury is influenced by malefic planets, and/or an overall malefic horoscope, the native may witness various types of problems related to or through his lifespan, family and/or friends. Considering friends, some of his friends may be selfish, opportunists, criminal-minded, criminals, drug addicts, traitors and/or they may have some other negative traits. The native may witness several problems because of such friends, many times in his life. Some of his friends may be his hidden enemies, and they may keep causing problems for him. Considering family, the native may be born in a family which may be poor, and/or some of his family members may be alcoholics, drug addicts, criminals and/or they may have some other negative traits. Hence the native may witness several problems in his life, due to bad reputation of his family, and/or bad conducts of some family members.

The native may witness delays, financial losses, setbacks, failures, job loss, bad reputation and several other problems related to or through his profession. Taking an example, suppose malefic retrograde Mercury is placed in the second house of a horoscope in Sagittarius with Mars and malefic Venus. Malefic Ketu is placed in the third house in Capricorn with Sun; Rahu is placed in the ninth house in Cancer, Jupiter is placed in the twelfth house in Libra, and debilitated Saturn is placed in the sixth house in Aries with Moon. Ketu and Sun form Grahan Yoga in the third house.

In this case, native’s parents may get divorced, and he may live with his mother, losing his father. He may not find a permanent profession till his age of 35/40, or throughout his life. He may only find temporary jobs, and he may remain jobless for periods of more than 3 months, many times in his life, though he may earn well at times. He may witness financial losses and bad reputation due to some of his friends. He may die before his age of 60 or 55, due to a heart attack, brain stroke, or because of a fatal viral infection like COVID or HIV AIDS.
