Considering a practical example of this type, if Pitra Dosh is formed by malefic Mercury in a horoscope due to its presence in the fifth house of such horoscope in the sign of Leo along with malefic Jupiter; and one more Pitra Dosh is formed due to the presence of malefic Ketu with Sun in the sixth house of this horoscope in the sign of Virgo, the native may face problems related to children. The native troubled by such double Pitra Dosh may not have his first child till the age of 41 or he may not have any children at all, throughout his life.
The natives who have committed bad karmas or crimes related to young girls of less than 12 years of age in their past lives are also likely to be afflicted by this type of Pitra Dosh in their present lives. For example, the presence of Pitra Dosh formed by malefic Mercury in the third, sixth, eighth or eleventh house of a horoscope can indicate that the native or his ancestors physically molested, raped or tortured young girl in their previous lives and they escaped the punishments. The amount of punishment rendered by such Pitra Dosh to a native under its impact depends on the quantum of bad karmas committed by the native in his past life. Considering a practical example, if a combination of malefic Mercury, malefic Venus, malefic Rahu and Sun is placed in the eighth house of a horoscope in the sign of Gemini, strong Pitra Dosh may be formed in the horoscope.
This is due to the fact that Sun is being afflicted by three malefic planets in this case; and hence the Pitra Dosh so formed may be very strong. As a result, the native under the malefic impact of such Pitra Dosh may get afflicted with a fatal disease like AIDS and he may die at a young age. Similarly, if a combination of malefic Mercury, malefic Moon, malefic Ketu and Venus forms Pitra Dosh in the sixth house of a horoscope in the sign of Cancer, the native may have to suffer from sexual abuse for many years during his childhood. It should be noted that when this combination is present in the sixth house in the sign of Cancer, Venus becomes the lord of the ninth house where the sign Libra ruled by Venus falls. Hence the affliction of these three malefic planets to Venus may result in this type of Pitra Dosh which may trouble the native with this type of problem during his childhood.
Moving on with other possibilities, the natives who have misused their wisdom, cleverness, speech abilities, communications skills and other good things coming under the significance of Mercury in their past lives, are also likely to suffer from this type of Pitra Dosh which is formed by malefic Mercury. In fact, this is the most common type of Pitra Dosh which can be found in a horoscope and the native under its impact generally suffers on account of bad luck in some particular sphere of his life. For example, the presence of Pitra Dosh formed by malefic Mercury in the first, second, third, fifth, ninth, tenth or eleventh house of a horoscope can indicate that the native or his ancestors had continuously misused their wisdom and cleverness to cheat and deceive people in order to gain materialistic benefits from them. The misuse of the abilities given by Mercury formed karmic debt on the native and as a result, malefic Mercury may form this type of Pitra Dosh in the present life horoscope of the native, which may trouble him with overall bad luck in his professional sphere, apart from causing many other types of problems.
The native suffering from this type of Pitra Dosh may have to struggle a lot in his professional sphere, despite having good academic qualification, despite being clever; and despite being well capable of succeeding in many professions. The native suffering from this type of Pitra Dosh may suffer from such bad luck that he may not be able to witness significant professional success till late or very late in his life, despite having everything but luck for such success. It should be noted that there is a fine line between the presence of this type of Pitra Dosh in a horoscope and the formation of Budhaditya Yog in a horoscope; as both of these concepts are formed due to the presence of Mercury with Sun. Hence Pitra Dosh formed due to a combination of malefic Mercury and Sun is commonly misunderstood as Budhaditya Yog by many astrologers; whereas there is a big difference between these two. Budhaditya Yog is formed due to the combination of benefic Sun and benefic Mercury in a horoscope; and the presence of Budhaditya Yog in a horoscope can bless the native with great professional success, fame, financial prosperity and a position of power and authority among many other benefic things. On karmic level, the formation of Budhaditya Yog in a horoscope indicates that the native had used his wisdom and knowledge for good purposes in his past life; and as a result, he is blessed by this yoga, which can make him prosper a lot through his knowledge and wisdom in this life.
On the other hand, Pitra Dosh of this type is formed in a horoscope due to the combination of malefic Mercury with benefic or malefic Sun, which can devoid the native of professional success despite his knowledge and intelligence. The presence of such Pitra Dosh in a horoscope indicates that the native may get no value or little value for his knowledge, intelligence and other good qualities rendered by Mercury; since he had misused these qualities in his previous lives. Therefore, Budhaditya Yog should not be confused with Pitra Dosh formed by malefic Mercury; as both of them give almost opposite results to the native in many spheres of his life. It is interesting to note that though both Budhaditya Yog and Pitra Dosh formed by malefic Mercury can bless the native with wisdom and intelligence; these qualities may not prove beneficial for the natives suffering from this type of Pitra Dosh. For example, on being caught by a policeman while breaking a traffic rule, the native benefitting from Budhaditya Yog may politely apologize and promise to be careful in the future. Hence this native may get away with minimum punishment or the policeman may let him go without any punishment, as he may be impressed with his politeness and his use of very good words, while speaking to him. On the other hand the native suffering from this type of Pitra Dosh may intensify his problem in the same situation, by using his cleverness and intelligence in a wrong way. Instead of being polite or instead of apologizing, the native suffering from such Pitra Dosh may start arguing with the policeman on various contexts.
Such native may find faults with the uniform of the policeman, he may blame him that he has only stopped him while he is letting other people go, who have made the same offence; or he may say something else like this, which may be true but which should not be said in this situation. Such karmas formed karmic debt related to Mercury due to which Mercury becomes malefic and it forms Pitra Dosh in the horoscope of the native. Like always, the type of problems witnessed by a native suffering from such Pitra Dosh and the quantum of such problems depends on the type and quantum of bad karmas committed by such native in his past lives.
Vedic astrology is equipped with many remedies that can reduce the strength of Pitra Dosh formed in a horoscope. These remedies include the application of gemstones, yantras, poojas and charities. Doing suitable remedies can certainly help reduce the strength of this defect and the native may witness better or much better results in the spheres of his life, which are affected by Pitra Dosh in his horoscope.
