Manglik Dosha is undoubtedly the most feared concept of Indian astrology when it comes to horoscope matching for the purpose of marriage and most of the people who believe in Indian astrology as well as many astrologers practicing in Indian astrology associate very bad results with this defect regarding the marriage and married life of the native having this defect in his horoscope. For example, it is preached by many astrologers and believed by the people following them that a Manglik Dosha present in a horoscope can delay the marriage of the native, cause serious disturbance in his married life which can lead to divorce in some cases and in some extreme cases this dosh can lead to the death of the spouse of the native. And before discussing as to how true can the above mentioned statements be, let’s first see as in how many horoscopes on average this dosh is formed.
According to the prevalent definition of Manglik Dosha it is said that if in a horoscope, Mars is placed in any one of the houses named 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th and 12th, a Manglik Dosha is formed in that horoscope, where the Ascendant rising is taken as the first house of the horoscope and signs following the sign of Ascendant are arranged in houses 2 to 12 in a cyclic order. And if we go by this definition, almost 50% of the people all across the world are having Manglik Dosha in their horoscopes as there are only twelve houses in a horoscope and the placement of Mars in six of these twelve houses forms a Manglik Dosha in the horoscope and accordingly most of these people having Manglik Dosha should be suffering from one or the other of the above mentioned problems in their marriage and married life and since such a high percentage of such problems related to marriage is not observed in actual practice, it means that the only condition mentioned in the prevalent definition of Manglik dosha is not sufficient for the formation of this dosh and there must be some other conditions which should meet in a horoscope in order for the formation of this dosh. I have explained these conditions in details in my article named Manglik Dosh, so kindly read this article for more details.
Moving on, let’s discuss some fears associated with the formation of Manglik Dosha which according to many astrologers are said to come true if this dosh is formed in a horoscope. Let’s first start with a statement associated with this dosh and which has scared billions of people believing in Indian astrology for many years. According to this statement, it is believed by many astrologers and people believing in astrology that the marriage of a Manglik should not be performed with a non Manglik and before we go ahead and analyze this statement, let’s first have a look at what is Manglik and what is non Manglik. A person having Manglik Dosha in his horoscope is said to be a Manglik and a person not having this dosh in his horoscope is said to be non Manglik.
The questions related to the above mentioned statement are some of the most frequently asked questions by my clients who approach me for match making or horoscope matching. For example, many clients ask that they are Manglik whereas their match is non Manglik and is it all right if they proceed forward with this match as some other astrologer has told them that if they go through with this match, their spouse or partner is likely to face serious physical problems which may include serious diseases, injuries or their partner may even die due to the reason that they are Manglik whereas their partner is non Manglik.
And the answer to this question is No in many of such cases because in most of the cases of match making, the horoscope of one partner is not capable of doing the kind of serious damages associated with Manglik Dosha. There is no doubt that if a Manglik dosha is formed in a horoscope, it is going to cause some kind of problem related to the marriage or married life of the native but in most of the cases it is likely to delay or disturb the marriage of the native having this dosh in his horoscope and anything more serious than that should not be predicted before analyzing the horoscope of the partner of the native. For example, if Manglik Dosha present in someone’s horoscope is indicating that the native may face a broken marriage or a divorce, this fact should not be confirmed before analyzing the horoscope of his partner as it may be the case that there are one or more very beneficial yogas in his partner’s horoscope which can reduce the bad effects of Manglik Dosha present in native’s horoscope to great extent. So in this case if a prediction is made, based on one horoscope only, such a prediction may or may not be true and accordingly a good astrologer is not likely to make such a statement based on one horoscope only.
Similarly if the Manglik Dosha present in a native’s horoscope is indicating a probable widowhood, it should not be predicted without analyzing his partner’s horoscope because in this case, his partner has to have some bad yogas or defects in her horoscope in order to die at an early age. Manglik dosha present in one horoscope and indicating a probable death of the partner of such native is not sufficient on its own to cause such death in many cases as it might be the case that the horoscope of such native’s partner may show a good to very good lifespan which will contradict the statement made by the first horoscope and accordingly this statement may not come true. So any serious predictions based on Manglik Dosha present in one horoscope are likely to come true in most of the cases only if they are supported by some defects present in the other horoscope also. And this is actually the whole point of match making which means that if a native’s horoscope is showing a divorce or other serious problems in marriage, such a horoscope is a fit match for the horoscopes which are showing the opposite trends like a good marriage and a long lifespan which will balance the bad effects of Manglik Dosha present in the first horoscope and accordingly no serious incidents are likely to be witnessed though there may still be occasional troubles and problems caused by Manglik Dosha but the worst is likely to be avoided in most of such cases.
Now coming to the part where it is said the marriage of a Manglik will hold good with a Manglik, I have rarely seen this happen in my practice of astrology and horoscope matching which extends over a thousand match makings. And in fact, the truth is quite the opposite in most of the cases which means that if Manglik Dosha is Actually present in both of the horoscopes under consideration for match making, serious to very serious results are likely to be witnessed in such cases and this is what I have observed and seen actually happening with people in my practice of astrology. And the logic is very simple; any defect present in one horoscope can only be balanced by some good yoga present in the other horoscope and not by the similar kind of defect present in the other horoscope. One defective horoscope is already sufficient to cause problems in marriage and combining it with the second horoscope which is again making similar statements made by the first horoscope is more than sufficient to bring serious consequences in most of the cases.
For example, if Manglik Dosha present in one horoscope is indicating a probable divorce and the Manglik Dosha present in the second horoscope is also indicating a probable divorce, then this divorce is very likely going to happen in most of such cases as it is being confirmed by both the horoscopes under consideration for horoscope matching. Therefore in my opinion, a Manglik should marry a non Manglik who is free of this defect and not a Manglik whose horoscope is confirming the divorce indicated by the first Manglik. This is how we do it in most of the other spheres of our lives and this is how we should do it here also. For example, someone who does not have a very good sense of a particular business will most likely choose to have a partner who has very good sense of the same business and not the one who has very little understanding of the business like him as with both of them not knowing much about the business, the chances of a loss are much more pronounced whereas in the first case, the expert partner will cover the shortcomings of the other partner and they are having much better chances of success. We do it likewise in most of the other spheres of our lives and this is what we should do in case of match making which means that if one of the partners is having a Manglik Dosha in his horoscope, he should be matched with someone free from the same defect and not with someone having the same defect which will only increase the chances of failure of the relationship whereas in the first case, the chances of this relationship working out are better.
To summarize, here are a few things which should be given proper consideration when dealing with Manglik Dosha, before jumping to any conclusions.
The placement of Mars in any of the above mentioned six houses of a horoscope is not sufficient to make Manglik Dosha in that horoscope and the other necessary conditions should also meet in the horoscope to confirm the formation of Manglik Dosha.
Once a Manglik Dosha is confirmed in a horoscope, such native should marry a person who is not having Manglik Dosha in his horoscope and not a person who is also having a Manglik Dosha in his horoscope as it will only enhance the bad results indicated by the first horoscope, in most of the cases.
