Vedic astrology mentions a number of good and bad yogas which can be formed in a horoscope and Simhasana yog is one of the good yogas mentioned in Vedic astrology. Simhasana yog is sometimes also called Kshetra Simhasana yog in some special cases and this yog is associated with many kinds of good results.
Simhasana Yog : According to the definition of Simhasana yog prevalent in Vedic astrology, it is said that if the Lord of Ascendant or Lagna of a horoscope is placed in 10th house of the horoscope or if the lord of 10th house of a horoscope is placed in 1st house of the horoscope, Simhasana yoga is formed in the horoscope which can bless the native with name, fame, position of power and authority in some government or private organization.
Another variation of Simhasana yoga states that if the lord of 2nd house of a horoscope is placed in 10th house of a horoscope or if the lord of 10th house of a horoscope is placed in 2nd house of a horoscope, Simhasana yog is formed in the horoscope which can bless the native with name, fame, money, wealth and a position of power and authority and such a Simhasana yog can also make the native become popular and famous as a celebrity.
Yet, another variation of Simhasana yog says that if the lord of 10th house of a horoscope is placed in any one of Kendra houses, trikona houses or in 2nd house of a horoscope, Simhasana yog which is also called Kshetra Simhasana yog is formed in the horoscope which can bless the native with name and fame on national or international level.
Hence we can see that there many definitions available in Vedic astrology for Simhasana yoga and each one of them blesses the native with name and fame on big level, among other things. Looking at the conditions mentioned for the formation of Simhasana yog it can be calculated that 1st type of Simhasana yog can be found in every 6th horoscope on average as there are only 12 houses in a horoscope and the chances of placement of Lord of Ascendant or lord of 10th house in 2 specific houses out of these 12 houses will be one in every 6th horoscope.
Similarly the 2nd type of Simhasana yog formed by lord of 2nd house or lord of 10th house can also be found present in every 6th horoscope on average and third kind of Simhasana yog which is also called Kshetra Simhasana yog, can be found present in almost every 2nd horoscope as this yog is said to be formed due to the placement of lord of 10th house of a horoscope in any one of Kendra houses or Trikona houses or in the 2nd house of a horoscope which makes the total number of these houses to be 7.
It means that the placement of lord of 10th house of a horoscope in any one of specific 7 houses of a horoscope out of a total of 12 houses can form Simhasana yog which means that every 2nd horoscope has this type of Simhasana yog. Combining all this data, it can be said that one type of Simhasana yog or the other is formed in almost 60% of the horoscopes which means that most people living on this earth should be rich, famous, celebrities or they should be blessed with a position of power and authority.
As these results are not practical at all and such a big percentage of people are not enjoying these kind of benefic results, hence it can be easily concluded that Simhasana yog is not formed according to its prevalent definitions because name, fame, celebrity status or a position of power and authority are not the things that every 2nd or 6th person is blessed with or can be blessed with. Hence there are serious misconceptions related to the formation of Simhasana yog in a horoscope.
I have analyzed thousands of such horoscopes where Simhasana yog is formed according to its definition prevalent in Vedic astrology and most of these natives are either not getting any of the above mentioned results or they are getting very few results and there are only a few natives who are getting strong positive results from such formation of Simhasana yog in their horoscope. Most such natives have some other good yogas present in their horoscope apart from such Simhasana yog which asserts the fact that the formation of Simhasana yog needs to meet some other conditions in a horoscope and even if it is formed in a horoscope after meeting the additional conditions, it is not capable of blessing the native with very big results on its own, in most cases.
Taking a look at some other conditions which must meet in a horoscope, for the formation of a proper Simhasana yog, all planets involved in the formation of this yog should be benefic in the horoscope as malefic planets will not form any benefic yog and instead they can form some dosha in the horoscope. Moving on with the conditions, the planet forming Simhasana yog should be free from any strong afflictions from one or more than one malefic planets; the planet should be strong in order to produce significant result; there must be some other well placed, clean and strong benefic planets in the horoscope which should support the benefic results indicated by such Simhasana yog and the overall horoscope of the native should be strong and positive.
If all the above mentioned conditions are met in a horoscope, only then a potential Simhasana yog will be formed in that horoscope which can bless the native with good results associated with this yog. Let’s try to understand this concept with the help of an example. Let’s assume that Aries is the Ascendant of the native and Saturn being the lord of 10th house is placed in the Ascendant or Lagna of the horoscope, Mars is placed in the 4th house of the horoscope, malefic Jupiter is placed in 7th house of the horoscope and Simhasana yog is formed in the horoscope according to its prevalent definition.
But in reality this is a very bad combination as Saturn is debilitated in the Ascendant or Lagna and even if Saturn is benefic in the horoscope, it does not have sufficient strength to produce results. Mars being the Lord of Ascendant is debilitated in 4th house of the horoscope which weakens the overall horoscope of the native and malefic Jupiter placed in 7th house of the horoscope can easily afflict already weak Saturn and Mars. Good results associated with Simhasana yog are not likely to show here at all and the results of such combination are likely to be bad or very bad unless some other strongly benefic planets save the native.
Taking another consideration, if Mars being the Lord of 10th house in a horoscope is malefic or strongly malefic and its is placed in 1st or 2nd house of the horoscope, then such Mars will not form Simhasana yog in the horoscope and instead it can form Kuja Dosha in 1st or 2nd house of the horoscope which can trouble the native with serious problems related to his marriage, married life as well as profession. Hence the formation of Simhasana yog should be checked properly in a horoscope by taking all the above mentioned facts into consideration and one should not jump to any conclusion merely by seeing the placement of Lord of 10th house in 1st or 2nd house or the placement of lord of 1st or 2nd house in 10th house of the horoscope.
