Exalted Sun in Second House

When exalted Sun is placed in the second house in a horoscope, Pisces rises in the ascendant. Exalted Sun is malefic in the second house in many cases though it may turn benefic in some cases. This generally happens when Sun is influenced by benefic planets, such as through conjunction and/or aspects. As the number of benefic planets and the strengths of such planets increase, Sun may become more benefic.

If exalted Sun is influenced by two or more than two benefic planets in the second house, it may turn significantly or highly benefic. Apart from that, the overall theme of horoscope having such exalted Sun can also turn it benefic in some cases, when such theme is highly benefic. The concept of malefic planets turning benefic due to influences of benefic planets has been explained in Manglik Dosh section of the book ‘Match Making and Manglik Dosh (Revised Edition)’.

Let’s look at some results which may be given by exalted Sun in the second house when it is benefic. Benefic exalted Sun in the second house can bless the native with good results related to profession, finances, wealth, family, speech, memory and several other good results, depending on his overall horoscope.

Considering profession, such benefic exalted Sun may bless the native with success as a banker, financial analyst, revenue officer, doctor, lawyer, politician, police officer, judge, administrative officer, astrologer, spiritual guru or some other professional. Taking an example, suppose a combination of exalted Sun, Mercury and Jupiter is placed in the second house of a horoscope in Aries. Since Mercury and Jupiter are benefic and they are placed in conjunction with Sun, they may reduce negativity of Sun to a significant extent. Hence Sun may become partly benefic and partly malefic.

As a result, the native may become a doctor, police officer, judge or some other likewise professional, depending on the rest of his horoscope. If benefic Mars is placed in the sixth house of this horoscope in Leo and benefic Moon is placed in the fourth house in Gemini, the native may become a doctor. Mars and Moon may provide additional positivity and strength to the horoscope. As the overall theme of horoscope becomes more positive, it may become more capable of handling the negative energy of Sun. Hence Sun may become even less malefic and its benefic part may increase. The concept of overall theme of horoscope turning malefic planets into benefic planets has been explained in the chapter ‘Vipreet Rajyoga’ of the book ‘Important Yogas in Vedic Astrology (Revised Edition)’.

Looking at another variation, suppose the placements of Mars and Moon are annulled. Suppose a benefic combination of Mars and Moon forms Chandra Mangal Yoga in the first house of this horoscope in Pisces. In this case, the native may become a revenue officer or a judicial officer, depending on his overall horoscope. For instance, if Saturn is placed in the sixth house in Leo, Rahu is placed in the tenth house in Sagittarius and Ketu is placed in the fourth house in Gemini, the native may become a judge or judicial officer.

On the other hand, if exalted Sun in the second house of a horoscope is malefic, it can create various types of problems for the native, depending on his overall horoscope. One such native may suffer from problems related to profession, marriage, finances, health, family, speech and several other problems, depending on his overall horoscope.

Looking at profession, some natives having this placement of malefic Sun may not earn much from their professions, some may have to change their professions many times in their lives, some may face losses through their professions, some may face bad reputation and some others may witness serious problems in their families or marriages, primarily due to their professions. Such malefic exalted Sun can also make the native engage in illegal activities and the native may become a professional criminal if his overall horoscope is supportive for this result.

Taking an example, if malefic exalted Sun is placed in the second house of a horoscope in Aries, debilitated Mercury is placed in the first house in Pisces, Jupiter is placed in eighth house in Libra and Venus is placed in the third house in Taurus, the native may not witness proper professional establishment till late in his life. The native may remain jobless many times in his life, he may not earn much through his profession and/or he may have to change job several times in his life, depending on his overall horoscope.

For instance, if malefic Saturn is placed in the tenth house of this horoscope in Sagittarius, malefic Rahu is placed in the third house in Taurus with Venus, and Ketu is placed in the ninth house in Scorpio, the native may remain jobless, many times in his life. Such native may not engage in proper profession till late in his life or even throughout his life, depending on his overall horoscope. The native may remain jobless for periods of more than one year, many times in his life. He may not earn much from his profession and he may suffer from financial debts, for many years or throughout his life.

Looking at another example, suppose malefic exalted Sun is placed in the second house in Aries along with benefic Mercury and malefic Venus. In this case, malefic influence of Sun and Venus may render a lot of negativity to Mercury. As a result, Mercury may turn significantly malefic and the overall combination in the second house may turn malefic or highly malefic, depending on the overall horoscope. Such malefic combination may turn the native into a criminal and it may also create several problems in his marriage, depending on his overall horoscope.

For instance, if malefic Rahu is placed in the sixth house in Leo, Ketu is placed in the twelfth house in Aquarius, malefic Saturn is placed in the tenth house in Sagittarius, Jupiter is placed in the eighth house in Libra and exalted Mars is placed in the eleventh house in Capricorn, the native may become a criminal. The native may engage in various types of crimes, he may earn money through such crimes, he may earn bad reputation as a criminal, he may get caught and he may serve a prison sentence of 7 years or more, depending on his overall horoscope.

Apart from these, malefic exalted Sun in the second house can trouble the native with several other problems, depending on his overall horoscope.
