When exalted Sun is placed in the ninth house in a horoscope, Leo rises in the ascendant. Exalted Sun is benefic in the ninth house in most cases though it may turn malefic in some cases. This generally happens when Sun is afflicted by malefic planets, such as through conjunction and/or aspects. As the number of malefic planets and the strengths of such planets increase, Sun may become more malefic.
If exalted Sun is afflicted by two or more than two malefic planets in the ninth house, it may turn significantly or highly malefic. Apart from that, the overall theme of horoscope having such exalted Sun can also turn it malefic in some cases, when such theme is highly malefic. Let’s look at some results which may be given by exalted Sun in the ninth house when it is benefic. Sun becomes the lord of the ascendant when it is exalted and placed in the ninth house. Such benefic exalted Sun can bless the native with good results related to health, lifespan, name, fame, finances, reputation, courage, confidence, leadership abilities and several other good results, depending on his overall horoscope. Looking at profession, such benefic exalted Sun can bless the native with a post of authority in government, through job or through politics, depending on his overall horoscope.
Taking an example, suppose benefic exalted Sun is placed in the ninth house of a horoscope in Aries along with Mercury. Venus is placed in the tenth house in Taurus, Rahu is placed in the second house in Virgo, Ketu is placed in the eighth house in Pisces and Moon is placed in the sixth house in Capricorn. In this case, the native may become a revenue officer or an administrative officer and he may have a good career. If benefic Mars is placed in the fifth house in Sagittarius and Jupiter is placed in the first house in Leo, the equation may improve. The native may get selected for the highest possible direct rank as a revenue officer and he may enjoy a very good career.
Taking another example, suppose a benefic combination of exalted Sun and Mercury is placed in the ninth house of a horoscope in Aries. Saturn is placed in the sixth house in Capricorn, Moon is placed in the seventh house in Aquarius and exalted Venus is placed in the eighth house in Pisces. In this case, the native may become an army officer. If a benefic combination of Mars and Jupiter is placed in the first house in Leo, the native may get selected for the highest possible direct rank in the army and he may witness many achievements during his career.
On the other hand, malefic exalted Sun in the ninth house of horoscope can trouble the native with problems related to father, health, lifespan, profession, reputation, marriage and several other problems. Looking at the sphere of health, suppose a combination of exalted Sun and malefic Rahu is placed in the ninth house in Aries, Ketu is placed in the third house in Libra and debilitated Mercury is placed in the eighth house in Pisces. In this case, the native may suffer from various types of health issues which may trouble him from time to time.
If malefic Moon is placed in the first house in Leo, malefic Jupiter is placed in the third house in Libra with Ketu, and Venus is placed in the seventh house in Aquarius, the equation may become worse. The native may suffer from serious health issues and he may also have a terminal disease which may reduce his lifespan. Such native may also get addicted to harmful drugs and he may face serious health problems due to such addiction. The native may die before the age of 50, 40 or 30, depending on his overall horoscope and running times. For example, if benefic Mars is placed in the fourth house of this horoscope in Scorpio, the native may live up to the age of 50 or 55. On the other hand, if debilitated Mars is placed it the twelfth house in Cancer, the native may die before the age of 35, provided the running times and finer factors are supportive for this result.
