When exalted Moon is placed in the third house in a horoscope, Pisces rises in the ascendant. Exalted Moon is benefic in the third house in most cases though it may turn malefic in some cases. This generally happens when Moon is afflicted by malefic planets, such as through conjunction and/or aspects. As the number of malefic planets and the strengths of such planets increase, Moon may become more malefic.
If exalted Moon is afflicted by two or more than two malefic planets in the third house, it may turn significantly or highly malefic.
