Exalted Moon in Second House

When exalted Moon is placed in the second house in a horoscope, Aries rises in the ascendant. Exalted Moon is benefic in the second house in most cases though it may turn malefic in some cases. This generally happens when Moon is afflicted by malefic planets, such as through conjunction and/or aspects. As the number of malefic planets and the strengths of such planets increase, Moon may become more malefic.

If exalted Moon is afflicted by two or more than two malefic planets in the second house, it may turn significantly or highly malefic. Apart from that, the overall theme of horoscope having such exalted Moon can also turn it malefic in some cases, when such theme is highly malefic. The concept of benefic planets turning malefic due to influences of malefic planets has been explained in Manglik Dosh section of the book ‘Match Making and Manglik Dosh (Revised Edition)’.

Let’s look at some results which may be given by exalted Moon in the second house when it is benefic. Such benefic exalted Moon can render good results related to mother, education, mental health, properties, vehicles, profession, marriage, family, finances, wealth, speech and several other good result, depending on the overall horoscope of a native under consideration. Looking at mother, Moon is the general signifier of mother and in this case, it becomes the specific signifier also. This is because it rules the fourth house in horoscopes with Aries ascendant. Since Moon is exalted and benefic, the native may have good relationship with his mother and he may benefit from his mother in many ways.

Taking an example, suppose benefic exalted Moon is placed in the second house of a horoscope in Taurus along with benefic Rahu, and Ketu is placed in the eighth house in Scorpio. In this case, native’s mother may belong to a rich family, the native may have a good relationship with his mother and he may enjoy many benefits because of his mother. If benefic Venus is also placed in the second house in Taurus with Moon and Rahu, the equation may improve. Native’s mother herself may be a rich businesswoman or celebrity of some type and the native may witness several benefits because of his mother.

Benefic exalted Moon in the second house can also bless the native with good education. The native may also achieve success in competitive exams and he may achieve a post of authority in government, when his overall horoscope is supportive for this result. Taking an example, suppose benefic exalted Moon is placed in the second house of a horoscope in Taurus. Mercury is placed in the third house in Gemini, benefic Sun is placed in the fourth house in Cancer, Rahu is placed in the fifth house in Leo and Ketu is placed in the eleventh house in Aquarius.

In this case, the native may become a doctor, engineer, administrative officer, revenue officer or some other professional working with government, depending on his overall horoscope. For instance, suppose benefic Venus is placed in the second house in Taurus with Moon, Jupiter is placed in the first house in Aries and a combination of exalted Mars and Saturn is placed in the tenth house in Capricorn. In this case, the native may get selected for the highest possible direct rank as a revenue officer or an administrative officer, depending on the finer factors and running times. The native may enjoy a very good career and he may accomplish a lot during his service.

Benefic exalted Moon in the second house can also bless the native with success through politics. Taking an example, suppose benefic exalted Moon is placed in the second house of a horoscope in Taurus. Sun is placed in the ninth house in Sagittarius, Mercury is placed in the tenth house in Capricorn, Rahu is placed in the sixth house in Virgo and Ketu is placed in the twelfth house in Pisces. In this case, the native may engage in politics and he may witness good results. Such native may win public elections and he may become a member of legislative assembly or that of parliament, depending on his overall horoscope.

Looking at mother, the native may witness various types or problems related to his mother, depending on his overall horoscope.

Taking an example, suppose a combination of exalted Moon, Sun and Mercury is placed in the second house of a horoscope in Taurus. Suppose Moon and Sun are placed in the same nakshatra within the sign of Taurus. In this case, Moon may receive weakness due to combustion from Sun and it may get afflicted by malefic Mercury. As a result, the native may not have good relationship with his mother and the two of them may disagree on several issues.

If exalted Jupiter is placed in the fourth house in Cancer, the equation may become worse. The native may have to live away from his mother on account of various reasons. For instance, his parents may get divorced and the native may live with his father. Looking at another probability, the native may be sent away for education. Hence he may spend most of his childhood and youth years away from his mother. If malefic Ketu is placed in the fourth house in Cancer along with Jupiter, the equation may become more troublesome. In this case, the native may lose his mother before his age of 20 years, unless there are grace saving factors in his horoscope.
