Debilitated Rahu in Ninth House
Rahu is debilitated in Scorpio as well as in Pisces. For the sake of this discussion, we’ll consider both these placements of Rahu. Debilitated Rahu in the ninth house of a horoscope is benefic in some cases whereas it is malefic in some cases. The influences of other benefic and/or malefic planets on Rahu, and the overall theme of horoscope are important criteria when it comes to decide the functional nature of Rahu in a horoscope.
As the number and strengths of benefic and/or malefic planets influencing Rahu in a horoscope increase, Rahu may become more benefic or malefic. The concept of benefic planets turning malefic due to influences of malefic planets, and the concept of malefic planets turning benefic due to influences of benefic planets have been explained in the book ‘Match Making and Manglik Dosh’.
When benefic in nature, debilitated Rahu in the ninth house of a horoscope can bless the native with good results related to father, creativity, spiritual growth, profession, finances, reputation, authority, recognition, fame and several other good results, depending on his/her overall horoscope and running times.

If such debilitated Rahu is influenced by malefic planets, and/or an overall malefic horoscope, the native may witness various types of problems related to or through his father. For example, the native may not have a good equation with his father, his parents may get divorced and he may live with his mother, his father may suffer from a long-lasting illness, he may be an alcoholic and/or a drug addict, he may be a criminal, and/or he may die before native’s age of 20, depending on native’s overall horoscope and running times. In an extreme case, the native may kill his father for some reason, or his father may kill him, depending on native’s overall horoscope and running times. The native may also witness delays, financial losses, setbacks, failures, job loss, bad reputation and several other problems related to or through his profession.
Taking an example, suppose malefic debilitated Rahu is placed in the ninth house of a horoscope in Scorpio with malefic Venus. Malefic debilitated Ketu is placed in the third house in Taurus with Mars; malefic debilitated Sun is placed in the eighth house in Libra with Mercury; malefic retrograde Saturn is placed in the tenth house in Sagittarius, Moon is placed in the sixth house in Leo, and benefic Jupiter is placed in the fourth house in Gemini. Rahu and Venus form Pitra Dosh in the ninth house.
In this case, native’s father may die before his age of 15 or 10. The native may not find a permanent profession throughout his life. He may only find temporary jobs, and he may remain jobless for periods of more than 3 months, many times in his life, though he may earn well at times. He may witness 1 or 2 failed marriages, and he may remain single after that.
Taking another example, suppose malefic debilitated Rahu is placed in the ninth house of a horoscope in Pisces with malefic Saturn. Malefic debilitated Ketu is placed in the third house in Virgo with Moon; malefic Mercury is placed in the twelfth house in Gemini with Sun and Venus; benefic exalted Mars is placed in the seventh house in Capricorn, and Jupiter is placed in the eighth house in Aquarius. Grahan Yoga is formed in the third house whereas Pitra Dosh is formed in the ninth house.
In this case, native’s father as well as mother may die before his age of 20 or 15. He may not achieve much success through profession, and he may remain jobless for periods of more than 3 months, many times in his life. He may witness financial tightness and debts. He may witness 1 or 2 failed marriages, and he may settle in his second or third marriage. Considering another probability, he may not get married after his first or second failed marriage.
