Debilitated Mercury in Twelfth House
When debilitated Mercury is placed in the twelfth house in a horoscope, Aries rises in the ascendant. Debilitated Mercury is malefic in the twelfth house in many cases though it may turn benefic in some cases. This may happen when Mercury is influenced by benefic planets, such as through conjunction and/or aspects. As the number of benefic planets and the strengths of such planets increase, Mercury may become more benefic.
Since Mercury is weak due to debilitation, it may become easy for benefic planets to add positivity to Mercury. If debilitated Mercury is influenced by one or more than one benefic planet in the twelfth house, it may turn significantly or highly benefic. Taking an example, suppose debilitated Mercury is placed in the twelfth house of a horoscope in Pisces with benefic exalted Venus. Jupiter is placed in the first house in Aries, benefic Moon is placed in the fifth house in Leo and exalted Mars is placed in the tenth house in Capricorn with benefic Saturn. Benefic Saturn may form Shasha Yoga in the tenth house. In this case, the native may join foreign services. He may get selected for a high rank in foreign services and he may come across good amount of success, recognition and authority during his career. Taking an example, suppose debilitated Mercury is placed in the twelfth house of a horoscope in Pisces with benefic exalted Venus. Benefic Sun is placed in the eleventh house in Aquarius, exalted Mars is placed in the tenth house in Capricorn, benefic Saturn is placed in the eighth house in Scorpio with benefic debilitated Rahu, and debilitated Ketu is placed in the second house in Taurus. In this case, the native may engage in the sector of oil and gas. He may get a well-paying job in a well-established oil and gas company and he may come across good amount of success, money and recognition. The native may go abroad on the basis of his profession and he may permanently settle there, provided his overall horoscope and running times are supportive.
If exalted Jupiter is placed in the fourth house in Cancer and benefic Moon is placed in the seventh house in Libra, the equation may become better. In this case, the native may start his own business dealing in oil and gas sector, after the age of 30 or 35 years. Taking an example, suppose malefic debilitated Mercury is placed in the twelfth house of a horoscope in Pisces with exalted Venus and malefic Rahu. Malefic Ketu is placed in the sixth house in Virgo, Mars is placed in the second house in Taurus, and Jupiter is placed in the eighth house in Scorpio with debilitated Moon. In this case, the native may consume alcohol and harmful drugs on regular basis and he may also smoke a lot. He may suffer from problems related to health, money and reputation, among other problems. The native may die before the age of 60 or 55, on account of health issues created by such harmful substances.
If Saturn is placed in the second house in Taurus with Mars, and Sun is placed in the twelfth house in Pisces with Venus, Mercury and Rahu, the equation may become more troublesome. In this case, the native may consume harmful drugs in heavy quantities, on regular basis. He may suffer from serious health problems and he may die before the age of 50, 45 or 40, depending on the finer factors and running times. The native may die due to drug overdose or because of failure of a vital organ like liver.
