Debilitated Ketu in Ninth House
Ketu is debilitated in Taurus as well as in Virgo. For the sake of this discussion, we’ll consider both these placements of Ketu. Debilitated Ketu in the ninth house of a horoscope is benefic in some cases whereas it is malefic in some cases. The influences of other benefic and/or malefic planets on Ketu, and the overall theme of horoscope are important criteria when it comes to decide the functional nature of Ketu in a horoscope.
As the number and strengths of benefic and/or malefic planets influencing Ketu in a horoscope increase, Ketu may become more benefic or malefic. On the other hand, malefic debilitated Ketu in the ninth house of a horoscope can trouble the native with problems related to father, profession, finances, reputation, authority, recognition and several other problems, depending on his/her overall horoscope and running times.
If such debilitated Ketu is influenced by malefic planets, and/or an overall malefic horoscope, the native may witness various types of problems related to or through his father. For example, the native may not have a good equation with his father, his parents may get divorced and he may live with his mother, his father may suffer from a long-lasting illness, he may be an alcoholic and/or a drug addict, he may be a criminal, and/or he may die before native’s age of 20, depending on native’s overall horoscope and running times. The native may not know his biological father, or his father may refuse to accept the native as his son, as native may be born from a secret love affair of his father. In an extreme case, the native may kill his father for some reason, or his father may kill him, depending on native’s overall horoscope and running times. Taking an example, suppose malefic debilitated Ketu is placed in the ninth house of a horoscope in Taurus with malefic Mars. Malefic debilitated Rahu is placed in the third house in Scorpio, retrograde Saturn is placed in the first house in Virgo, Mercury is placed in the sixth house in Aquarius, Venus is placed in the eighth house in Aries, benefic Moon is placed in the tenth house in Gemini, and benefic retrograde Jupiter is placed in the second house in Libra. Mars and Ketu form Pitra Dosh in the ninth house. In this case, the native may engage in immoral and/or illegal activities from time to time, though he may not become a professional criminal. He may get caught while engaging in a crime, and he may spend more than 6 months in prison.
If malefic Sun is placed in the seventh house in Pisces, the equation may become more troublesome. In this case, the native may have a criminal mindset, and he may be greedy for money. He may kill his wife for money, he may get caught, and he may spend more than 10 years in prison.
Taking another example, suppose malefic debilitated Ketu is placed in the ninth house of a horoscope in Virgo with malefic Sun. Malefic debilitated Rahu is placed in the third house in Pisces with malefic Jupiter; retrograde Venus is placed in the eighth house in Leo with Mercury; Moon is placed in the sixth house in Gemini with Mars; and Saturn is placed in the twelfth house in Sagittarius. Grahan Yoga is formed in the ninth house whereas Guru Chandal Yoga is formed in the third house.
In this case, native’s father may die before his age of 20 or 15. The native may not find a permanent profession throughout his life. He may only find temporary jobs, and he may remain jobless for periods of more than 6 months, many times in his life. He may witness financial tightness and debts. He may witness 1 or 2 failed marriages, and he may settle in his second or third marriage.
