Debilitated Ketu in Eighth House
Ketu is debilitated in Taurus as well as in Virgo. For the sake of this discussion, we’ll consider both these placements of Ketu. Debilitated Ketu in the eighth house of a horoscope is benefic in some cases whereas it is malefic in some cases. The influences of other benefic and/or malefic planets on Ketu, and the overall theme of horoscope are important criteria when it comes to decide the functional nature of Ketu in a horoscope.
As the number and strengths of benefic and/or malefic planets influencing Ketu in a horoscope increase, Ketu may become more benefic or malefic. Taking an example, suppose benefic debilitated Ketu is placed in the eighth house of a horoscope in Taurus, and benefic debilitated Rahu is placed in the second house in Scorpio. Benefic retrograde Saturn is placed in the sixth house in Pisces, benefic Sun is placed in the twelfth house in Virgo with exalted Mercury; benefic Mars is placed in the third house in Sagittarius with Jupiter, and benefic Moon is placed in the first house in Libra. In this case, the native may become a scientist, and he may witness good results.
If benefic Venus is placed in the eleventh house in Leo, the equation may become better. In this case, the native may come across very good amount of success and recognition, along with good amount of money and fame. He may conduct research in the field of genetics, and he may come cross important discoveries. If the finer factors and running times are supportive, he may become one of the most recognized scientists of his time, and he may win several awards, including a Nobel Prize.

Benefic debilitated Rahu is placed in the second house in Scorpio, benefic Saturn is placed in the tenth house in Cancer with Mercury; benefic Moon is placed in the first house in Libra, benefic Mars is placed in the twelfth house in Virgo, and Jupiter is placed in the ninth house in Gemini. In this case, the native may engage in politics, and he may become a member of parliament of his country.
If benefic Sun is placed in the tenth house in Cancer with Mercury and Saturn; the equation may become better. In this case, the native may come across very good amount of success, recognition, authority and fame as a politician. He may win several public elections, and he may become a minister in national government. If finer factors and running times are very good, he may serve as prime minister or president of his country. He may become one of the most respected political leaders in the world, and he may receive several awards, including Nobel prize for peace.
On the other hand, malefic debilitated Ketu in the eighth house of a horoscope can trouble the native with problems related to health, lifespan, profession, finances, reputation, authority, recognition and several other problems, depending on his/her overall horoscope and running times.
If such debilitated Ketu is influenced by malefic planets, and/or an overall malefic horoscope, the native may witness reduction in lifespan due to several reasons. For example, he may die in an accident, through a natural disaster, due to a fatal disease, due to a fatal viral infection like COVID, due to drug addiction, he may commit suicide, or someone may kill him, intentionally or unintentionally. Considering some unintentional incidents, he may get caught in a crossfire between two rival criminal gangs or that between criminals and police, or someone may accidently kill him.
The native may witness delays, financial losses, setbacks, failures, job loss, bad reputation and several other problems related to or through his profession. He may also become a criminal. Taking an example, suppose malefic debilitated Ketu is placed in the eighth house of a horoscope in Taurus with Saturn. Malefic debilitated Rahu and malefic Jupiter form Guru Chandal Yoga in the second house in Scorpio, Moon is placed in the twelfth house in Virgo, exalted Venus is placed in the sixth house in Pisces with Mars; and benefic exalted Sun is placed in the seventh house in Aries with Mercury.
In this case, native’s mother may die before his age of 10 or 5. He may become a criminal. He may become leader of a group which may engage in drug trafficking and woman trafficking. He may traffic narcotics worth in billions, over some years. He may kidnap and sell several women, and he may rape many of them. He may get caught between his age of 35 and 45, and he may serve a prison sentence of more than 15 years. If the finer factors and running times are very bad, he may spend more than 20/30 years in prison.
Taking another example, suppose malefic debilitated Ketu is placed in the eighth house of a horoscope in Virgo with Saturn and Mars. Malefic debilitated Rahu is placed in the second house in Pisces, Venus is placed in the sixth house in Cancer with Sun; malefic Moon is placed in the seventh house in Leo with Mercury; and debilitated Jupiter is placed in the twelfth house in Capricorn.
In this case, the native may not find a permanent profession throughout his life. He may only find temporary jobs, and he may remain jobless for periods of more than 6 months, many times in his life. He may also witness financial tightness and debts. He may witness 1 or 2 failed marriages, and he may settle in his second or third marriage. He may die between his age of 40 and 50, due to a heart attack, in an accident, or he may kill himself.
