Debilitated Ketu in Third House
Ketu is debilitated in Taurus as well as in Virgo. For the sake of this discussion, we’ll consider both these placements of Ketu. Debilitated Ketu in the third house of a horoscope is benefic in some cases whereas it is malefic in some cases. The influences of other benefic and/or malefic planets on Ketu, and the overall theme of horoscope are important criteria when it comes to decide the functional nature of Ketu in a horoscope.
As the number and strengths of benefic and/or malefic planets influencing Ketu in a horoscope increase, Ketu may become more benefic or malefic. If such debilitated Ketu is influenced by malefic planets, and/or an overall malefic horoscope, the native may witness various types of problems related to or through his siblings. For example, he may have bad relationships with some/many of his siblings, and/or he may witness various types of problems through them or due to them. He may have siblings who may be criminals, and/or drug addicts, and he may face several problems because of them. Malefic debilitated Rahu is placed in the ninth house in Scorpio with malefic Venus; malefic debilitated Sun is placed in the eighth house in Libra with Mercury; malefic retrograde Saturn is placed in the tenth house in Sagittarius, Moon is placed in the sixth house in Leo, and benefic Jupiter is placed in the fourth house in Gemini. Rahu and Venus form Pitra Dosh in the ninth house.
In this case, native’s father may die before his age of 15 or 10. He may not have good relationships with some of his siblings, and/or he may witness several problems because of them, including financial losses and bad reputation. He may not find a permanent profession throughout his life. He may only find temporary jobs, and he may remain jobless for periods of more than 3 months, many times in his life, though he may earn well at times. He may witness 1 or 2 failed marriages, and he may remain single after that.
Taking another example, suppose malefic debilitated Ketu is placed in the third house of a horoscope in Virgo with Moon. Malefic debilitated Rahu is placed in the ninth house in Pisces with malefic Saturn; malefic Mercury is placed in the twelfth house in Gemini with Sun and Venus; benefic exalted Mars is placed in the seventh house in Capricorn, and Jupiter is placed in the eighth house in Aquarius. Grahan Yoga is formed in the third house whereas Pitra Dosh is formed in the ninth house.
In this case, native’s father as well as mother may die before his age of 20 or 15. He may not achieve much success through profession, and he may remain jobless for periods of more than 3 months, many times in his life. He may witness financial tightness and debts. He may witness 1 or 2 failed marriages, and he may settle in his second or third marriage. Considering another probability, he may not get married after his first or second failed marriage.
