Debilitated Ketu in Second House
Ketu is debilitated in Taurus as well as in Virgo. For the sake of this discussion, we’ll consider both these placements of Ketu. Debilitated Ketu in the second house of a horoscope is benefic in some cases whereas it is malefic in some cases. The influences of other benefic and/or malefic planets on Ketu, and the overall theme of horoscope are important criteria when it comes to decide the functional nature of Ketu in a horoscope.
As the number and strengths of benefic and/or malefic planets influencing Ketu in a horoscope increase, Ketu may become more benefic or malefic. The concept of benefic planets turning malefic due to influences of malefic planets, and the concept of malefic planets turning benefic due to influences of benefic planets have been explained in the book ‘Match Making and Manglik Dosh’.
When benefic in nature, debilitated Ketu in the second house of a horoscope can bless the native with good results related to family, wealth, speech, profession, finances, reputation, authority, recognition, fame and several other good results, depending on his/her overall horoscope and running times.

On the other hand, malefic debilitated Ketu in the second house of a horoscope can trouble the native with problems related to family, wealth, speech, profession, finances, reputation, authority, recognition and several other problems, depending on his/her overall horoscope and running times.
If such debilitated Ketu is influenced by malefic planets, and/or an overall malefic horoscope, the native may witness various types of problems related to or through his family. For example, the native may be born in a family which may be poor, and/or some of his family members may be alcoholics, drug addicts, criminals and/or they may have some other negative traits. Hence the native may witness several problems in his life, due to bad reputation of his family, and/or bad conducts of some family members. Malefic debilitated Rahu is placed in the eighth house in Scorpio with debilitated Moon; Mars is placed in the first house in Aries with benefic exalted Sun; Venus is placed in the twelfth house in Pisces, Jupiter is placed in the seventh house in Libra, and Saturn is placed in the sixth house in Virgo. Grahan Yoga is formed in the eighth house.
In this case, native’s mother may die before his age of 20 or 15. He may become a criminal, and he may engage in financial and violent crimes. He may execute several robberies, he may kidnap many people for ransom, and he may kill several people. He may not get married throughout his life. He may get killed in an encounter with police or he may kill himself, between his age of 40 and 50.
Taking another example, suppose malefic debilitated Ketu is placed in the second house of a horoscope in Virgo with malefic Moon and retrograde debilitated Venus. Malefic debilitated Rahu is placed in the eighth house in Pisces with malefic Saturn; Sun is placed in the twelfth house in Cancer with Mercury; debilitated Jupiter is placed in the sixth house in Capricorn, and benefic retrograde Mars is placed in the seventh house in Aquarius. Ketu and Moon form Grahan Yoga in the second house.
In this case, native’s father as well as mother may die before his age of 20 or 15. He may not find a permanent profession throughout his life. He may only find temporary jobs, and he may remain jobless for periods of more than 6 months, many times in his life. He may witness financial tightness and debts. He may not get married till his age of 40/45, or throughout his life. Considering another probability, he may get married once, the marriage may fail, and he may not get married again.
