Sunfa Yoga

According to prevalent definition of Sunfa Yoga in Vedic astrology; if in a horoscope, there is one or more than one planet in the house next to the house of placement of Moon, Sunfa Yoga is formed in the horoscope. This Yoga may bless the native with good results related to wealth, fame and many other things.

The placement of Sun, Rahu and/or Ketu only, in the house next to the house of placement of Moon is not considered for the formation of this Yoga. Hence one or more than one planet other than Sun, Rahu and Ketu should be placed in the house next to the house of placement of Moon in a horoscope, for the formation of this Yoga in that horoscope.

In real practice, Sunfa Yoga is not seen producing such results when only the aforementioned conditions are met. Hence more conditions should be met in order for this yoga to be formed effectively in a horoscope. If Moon is functionally benefic in one such horoscope, this yoga may produce better results. If the planet/planets placed in the next house are also benefic; Sunfa Yoga may produce even better results.

Taking an example, suppose Moon is placed in the first house of a horoscope in Sagittarius and exalted Mars is placed in the second house in Capricorn. Moon is malefic in this horoscope. Mars is partly benefic and partly malefic in horoscopes with Sagittarius ascendant. In this case, Sunfa Yoga may not be formed in the horoscope; though the primary conditions are met. The concept of a planet being partly benefic and partly malefic has been explained in the book ‘Pitra Dosh – Ancestors are Calling (Revised Edition)’.

Taking another example, suppose exalted Moon is placed in the first house of a horoscope in Taurus and Mercury is placed in the second house in Gemini. In this case, Sunfa Yoga may be formed in the horoscope, since both Moon and Mercury are benefic. Hence the native with may witness good results related to health, lifespan, education, profession, finances, wealth, family and a number of other things.

Once the formation of Sunfa Yoga is confirmed in a horoscope, the next factor to check is its strength. The strength of this yoga is calculated through the placements of planets involved in its formation in various signs, nakshatras and navamshas; as well as through the influences of other benefic and malefic planets on them. The overall theme of horoscope and running times (Mahadashas) also affect the strength of this Yoga.

Taking an example, suppose Moon is placed in the first house of a horoscope in Taurus, in Taurus navamsha of Rohini nakshatra; and Mercury is placed in the second house in Gemini, in Gemini navamsha of Punarvasu nakshatra. Moon and Mercury are strong in their respective signs as well as navamshas. Hence strong Sunfa Yoga may be formed.

Looking at the running times; when Mahadashas (planetary periods) of malefic planets are in effect; benefic effects of Sunfa Yoga may reduce. When Mahadashas of benefic planets other than the ones involved in the formation of this yoga are in effect; benefic effects of this yoga may increase. When Mahadashas of the planets involved in the formation of Sunfa Yoga are in effect; the native may witness maximum benefits through this yoga. For instance; in the recent example, the native may benefit the most during Mercury Mahadasha and Moon Mahadasha.

Ubhayachari Yoga

According to prevalent definition of Ubhayachari Yoga in Vedic astrology; if in a horoscope, there is one or more than one planet in the house prior as well as the house next to the house of placement of Sun, Ubhayachari Yoga is formed in the horoscope. Ubhayachari Yoga may bless the native with good results related to profession, health, money, wealth, prosperity, authority, fame and many other things.

The placement of Moon, Rahu and/or Ketu only, in the house prior or next to the house of placement of Sun is not considered for the formation of this Yoga. Hence one or more than one planet other than Moon, Rahu and Ketu should be placed in the house prior as well as next to the house of placement of Sun in a horoscope, for the formation of this Yoga in that horoscope.

In real practice, Ubhayachari Yoga is not seen producing such results when only the aforementioned conditions are met. Hence more conditions should be met in order for this yoga to be formed effectively in a horoscope. If Sun is functionally benefic in one such horoscope, this yoga may produce better results. If the planet/planets placed in the prior and next house are also benefic; Ubhayachari Yoga may produce even better results.

Taking an example, suppose Sun is placed in the second house of a horoscope in Aries, Venus is placed in the third house in Taurus and Saturn is placed in the first house in Pisces. Sun, Venus and Saturn are all malefic in the horoscope. In this case, Ubhayachari Yoga may not be formed in the horoscope, though the primary conditions are met.

Taking another example, suppose Sun is placed in the second house of a horoscope in Virgo, Mercury is placed in the third house in Libra and Mars is placed in the first house in Leo. In this case, Ubhayachari Yoga may be formed in the horoscope; since Sun, Mars and Mercury are benefic. Hence the native may witness good results related to profession, reputation, finances, health, lifespan, wealth, family and a number of other things.

Once the formation of Ubhayachari Yoga is confirmed in a horoscope, the next factor to check is its strength. The strength of this yoga is calculated through the placements of planets involved in its formation in various signs, nakshatras and navamshas; as well as through the influences of other benefic and malefic planets on them. The overall theme of horoscope and running times (Mahadashas) also affect the strength of this Yoga.

Taking an example, suppose benefic exalted Sun is placed in the tenth house of a horoscope in Aries, in Leo navamsha of Bharani nakshatra. Suppose benefic exalted Venus is placed in the ninth house in Pisces, in Libra navamsha of Uttarabhadrapada nakshatra; and benefic Mars is placed in the eleventh house in Taurus, in Capricorn navamsha of Krittika nakshatra. Sun and Venus are exalted in their respective signs and they are strong in their respective navamshas. Mars may do very well when placed in Capricorn navamsha of Krittika nakshatra. Hence strong Ubhayachari Yoga may be formed in this case.

Looking at the running times; when Mahadashas (planetary periods) of malefic planets are in effect; benefic effects of Ubhayachari Yoga may reduce. When Mahadashas of benefic planets other than the ones involved in the formation of this yoga are in effect; benefic effects of this yoga may increase. When Mahadashas of the planets involved in the formation of Ubhayachari Yoga are in effect; the native may witness maximum benefits through this yoga. For instance; in the recent example, the native may benefit the most during Sun Mahadasha, Mars Mahadasha and Venus Mahadasha.

Vashi Yoga may bless the native with good results related to money, wealth, prosperity, authority and many other things.

Taking an example, suppose Sun is placed in the second house of a horoscope in Aries and Saturn is placed in the first house in Pisces. Both Sun and Saturn are malefic in the horoscope. In this case, Vashi Yoga may not be formed in the horoscope, though the primary conditions are met.

In this case, Vashi Yoga may be formed in the horoscope, since both Sun and Jupiter are benefic. Hence the native with may witness good results related to profession, reputation, finances, health, wealth, family, spiritual growth and a number of other things.

Once the formation of Vashi Yoga is confirmed in a horoscope, the next factor to check is its strength. The overall theme of horoscope and running times (Mahadashas) also affect the strength of this Yoga.

Taking an example, suppose benefic Sun is placed in the tenth house of a horoscope in Leo, in Aries navamsha of Magha nakshatra and benefic exalted Jupiter is placed in the ninth house in Cancer, in Cancer navamsha of Punarvasu nakshatra. Sun and Jupiter are strong in their respective signs as well as navamshas. Hence strong Vashi Yoga may be formed.

Looking at the running times; when Mahadashas (planetary periods) of malefic planets are in effect; benefic effects of Vashi Yoga may reduce. Saturn is partly benefic and partly malefic in horoscopes with Virgo ascendant. In this case, Veshi Yoga may not be formed in the horoscope or it may not do much good to the native; though the primary conditions are met. Simhasana Yoga

According to prevalent definition of Simhasana Yoga in Vedic astrology; if in a horoscope, the lord of 1st house is placed in the 10th house or if the lord of the 10th house is placed in the 1st house, Simhasana Yoga is formed in the horoscope. Simhasana Yoga can bless the native with good results related to profession, high authority, fame, reputation and many other things. Such native may achieve a post of high authority in government through job or politics; depending on his overall horoscope.

In real practice, Simhasana Yoga is not seen producing such results when only the aforementioned conditions are met. Hence some other condition should be met in order for this yoga to be formed effectively in a horoscope. Looking at this condition, the lords of the first and/or tenth house should be duly benefic in such horoscope. One such malefic lord may not form this yoga whereas one such partly malefic lord may not form effective Simhasana Yoga in horoscope.

Taking an example, suppose Saturn is placed in the tenth house of a horoscope in Scorpio. Saturn is partly benefic and partly malefic in horoscopes with Aquarius ascendant. Hence Simhasana Yoga may not be formed in the horoscope or it may not work properly; depending on the overall horoscope. The concept of a planet being partly benefic and partly malefic has been explained in the book ‘Pitra Dosh – Ancestors are Calling (Revised Edition)’.

Taking another example, suppose Saturn is placed in the first house of a horoscope in Aries, in Aries navamsha of Ashwini nakshatra. Functional nature of Saturn is flexible in horoscopes with Aries ascendant. In the present case, Saturn is uncomfortable in Aries, in Ashwini nakshatra and in Aries navamsha. Hence it may turn much more malefic than benefic. Therefore, Simhasana Yoga may not be formed in the horoscope or it may not work properly; depending on the overall horoscope. The concept of planets exhibiting tendencies to be benefic or malefic on the basis of the houses they rule in a horoscope has been explained in the chapter ‘Gemstones for House Lords’ of the book ‘Gemstones – Magic or Science (Revised Edition)’.

Taking another example, suppose benefic Jupiter is placed in the tenth house of a horoscope in Sagittarius. Pisces rises in the ascendant and Jupiter rules the first as well as the tenth house. Hence Simhasana Yoga may be formed in this case. Looking at another example, suppose benefic Saturn is placed in the first house of a horoscope in Taurus. Saturn rules the ninth and tenth house in this case and it is benefic. Hence Simhasana Yoga may be formed.

Once the formation of Simhasana Yoga is confirmed in a horoscope, the next factor to check is its strength. The strength of this yoga is calculated through the placements of planets involved in its formation in various signs, nakshatras and navamshas; as well as through the influences of other benefic and malefic planets on them. The overall theme of horoscope and running times (Mahadashas) also affect the strength of this Yoga.

Taking an example, suppose Jupiter is placed in the first house of a horoscope in Gemini, in Capricorn navamsha of Ardra nakshatra. Jupiter rules the tenth house, it is not strong in Gemini and it is debilitated in Capricorn. Hence weak yoga may be formed.

Taking another example, suppose Saturn is placed in the first house of a horoscope in Taurus, in Taurus navamsha of Rohini nakshatra. Saturn is strong in Taurus, it is comfortable in Rohini and it is strong in Taurus navamsha. Hence strong yoga may be formed in this case.

Looking at the running times; when Mahadashas (planetary periods) of malefic planets are in effect; benefic effects of Simhasana Yoga may reduce. When Mahadashas of benefic planets other than the ones involved in the formation of this yoga are in effect; benefic effects of this yoga may increase. When Mahadashas of the planets involved in the formation of Simhasana Yoga are in effect; the native may witness maximum benefits through this yoga. For instance; in the recent example, the native may benefit the most during Saturn Mahadasha.

Chatussagara Yoga

According to prevalent definition of Chatussagara Yoga in Vedic astrology; if in a horoscope, planets are placed in all Kendra houses (1st, 4th, 7th and 10th), counted from ascendant or Moon, Chatussagara Yoga is formed in the horoscope. Chatussagara Yoga can bless the native with good results related to health, lifespan, profession, marriage, education, money, wealth, prosperity, luxuries, reputation, authority, fame and many other good things.

In real practice, Chatussagara Yoga is not seen producing such results when only the aforementioned condition is met. Hence more conditions should be met in order for this yoga to be formed effectively in a horoscope. Looking at the first condition, at least three Kendra houses should be occupied by benefic planets, for the formation of Chatussagara Yoga in a horoscope. Apart from that; placements of planets in Kendra houses from Moon may not form this yoga in a horoscope. Hence only Kendra houses from ascendant should be considered for the formation of this Yoga.

Taking an example, suppose Saturn is placed in the first house of a horoscope in Pisces, Sun is placed in the seventh house in Virgo, Mars is placed in the fourth house in Gemini and Moon is placed in tenth house in Sagittarius. Saturn and Sun are malefic in this horoscope; and Saturn is placed in the most important house of horoscope; the first house. Hence Chatussagara Yoga may not be formed in this case.

Taking another example, suppose Jupiter is placed in the first house of a horoscope in Pisces, Mars is placed in the tenth house in Sagittarius, Venus is placed in the fourth house in Gemini and exalted Mercury is placed in the seventh house in Virgo. Jupiter, Mercury and Mars are benefic in the horoscope whereas Venus is malefic. Hence Chatussagara Yoga may be formed in this case.

Once the formation of Chatussagara Yoga is confirmed in a horoscope, the next factor to check is its strength. The strength of this yoga is calculated through the placements of planets involved in its formation in various signs, nakshatras and navamshas; as well as through the overall theme of horoscope and running times (Mahadashas).

Taking an example, suppose benefic Jupiter is placed in the first house of a horoscope in Pisces, in Sagittarius navamsha of Revati nakshatra and benefic Mars is placed in the ninth house in Sagittarius, in Aries navamsha of Moola nakshatra. Benefic Moon is placed in the fourth house in Gemini, in Taurus navamsha of Punarvasu nakshatra and benefic exalted Mercury is placed in the seventh house in Virgo, in Virgo navamsha of Chitra nakshatra. Jupiter, Mars and Mercury are strong in their respective signs as well as navamshas. Moon may do very well in Taurus navamsha of Punarvasu nakshatra; within the sign of Gemini. Hence strong Chatussagara Yoga may be formed; which may bless the native with very good results related to many spheres of his life.

Looking at the running times; when Mahadashas (planetary periods) of malefic planets are in effect; benefic effects of Chatussagara Yoga may reduce. When Mahadashas of benefic planets other than the ones involved in the formation of this yoga are in effect; benefic effects of this yoga may increase. When Mahadashas of the planets involved in the formation of Chatussagara Yoga are in effect; the native may witness maximum benefits through this yoga. For instance; in the recent example, the native may benefit the most during Moon Mahadasha, Jupiter Mahadasha, Mercury Mahadasha and Mars Mahadasha.

Adhi Yoga

According to prevalent definition of Adhi Yoga in Vedic astrology; if in a horoscope, natural benefics (Jupiter, Venus and Mercury) are placed in 6th, 7th and 8th houses with respect to Moon, Adhi Yoga is formed in such horoscope. This yoga can bless the native with good results related to profession, authority, power, influence, status and many other things.

In real practice, Adhi Yoga is not seen producing such results when only the aforementioned condition is met. Hence more conditions should be met in order for this yoga to be formed effectively in a horoscope. Looking at the first condition, the benefic planets should be functionally benefic for one such horoscope. It means the planets which are naturally benefic but functionally malefic in a horoscope may not form Adhi Yoga in such horoscope. Looking at the second condition, at least two out of three of these planets should be placed in the aforementioned houses, for the formation of Adhi Yoga in a horoscope. Apart from that, Moon should also be benefic in the horoscope; if there are planets in the seventh house with respect to Moon.

Taking an example, suppose Moon is placed in the first house of a horoscope in Aquarius, Jupiter is placed in the eighth house in Gemini and Venus is placed in the seventh house in Leo. Moon is malefic in the horoscope and it casts direct aspect on Venus. Hence Adhi Yoga may not be formed in this case.

Taking another example, suppose Moon is placed in the eleventh house of a horoscope in Cancer, Venus and Mercury are placed in the fifth house in Capricorn; and Jupiter is placed in the fourth house in Sagittarius. All planets are significantly or highly benefic in this case. Hence Adhi Yoga may be formed and it may bless the native with wealth, authority, status and fame among other things.

Once the formation of Adhi Yoga is confirmed in a horoscope, the next factor to check is its strength. The strength of this yoga is calculated through the placements of planets involved in its formation in various signs, nakshatras and navamshas; as well as through the influences of other benefic and malefic planets on them. The overall theme of horoscope and running times (Mahadashas) also affect the strength of this Yoga.

Let’s look at influences of malefic planets on this yoga. Suppose in the same horoscope; malefic Sun is placed in the fourth house in Sagittarius with Jupiter, malefic Ketu is placed in the fifth house in Capricorn with Mercury and Venus; and malefic Rahu as well as Saturn (partly benefic and partly malefic) is placed in the eleventh house in Cancer with Moon. In this case, all planets involved in the formation of Adhi Yoga are afflicted. Hence the strength of this yoga may reduce a lot and the native may not benefit much from it.

Looking at the running times; when Mahadashas (planetary periods) of malefic planets are in effect; benefic effects of Adhi Yoga may reduce. When Mahadashas of benefic planets other than the ones involved in the formation of this yoga are in effect; benefic effects of this yoga may increase. When Mahadashas of the planets involved in the formation of Adhi Yoga are in effect; the native may witness maximum benefits through this yoga. For instance; in the recent example, the native may benefit the most during Moon Mahadasha, Jupiter Mahadasha, Venus Mahadasha and Mercury Mahadasha.

Vasumati Yoga

According to prevalent definition of Vasumati Yoga in Vedic astrology; if in a horoscope, benefic planets are placed in Upachaya houses (3rd, 6th, 10th and 11th) from ascendant or Moon, Vasumati Yoga is formed in the horoscope. This Yoga can bless the native with good results related to money, wealth, prosperity, authority, fame and many other things.

In real practice, this Yoga is not seen producing such results when only the aforementioned condition is met. Hence more conditions should be met in order for this yoga to be formed effectively in a horoscope. Looking at the first condition, the benefic planets should be functionally benefic for one such horoscope. It means the planets which are naturally benefic but functionally malefic in a horoscope may not form Vasumati Yoga in such horoscope.

Looking at the second condition, at least three Upachaya houses should be occupied by benefic planets, for the formation of Vasumati Yoga in a horoscope. Looking at the third condition; placements of benefic planets in Upachaya houses from Moon may not result in the formation of Vasumati Yoga in a horoscope, in most cases. Hence benefic planets should be placed in Upachaya houses with respect to the first house.

Let’s see how this yoga may be formed when planets are placed in Upachaya houses from Moon. In case Moon is benefic in a horoscope, the planet/planets placed in Upachaya houses from it are also benefic and Moon as well as such planet/planets are placed in comfortable houses; Vasumati Yoga may be formed in the horoscope.

Taking an example, suppose Jupiter is placed in the third house of a horoscope in Sagittarius, Venus is placed in the tenth house in Cancer and Moon is placed in the first house in Libra.  Jupiter, Moon and Venus are natural benefic planets. However, Jupiter is functionally malefic in this case whereas Venus is partly benefic and partly malefic in horoscopes with Libra ascendant. Hence only Moon is duly benefic in the horoscope. In this case, Vasumati Yoga may not be formed in the horoscope though the primary condition is met. The concept of a planet being partly benefic and partly malefic has been explained in the book ‘Pitra Dosh – Ancestors are Calling (Revised Edition)’.

Taking another example, suppose Jupiter is placed in the third house of a horoscope in Leo, Mercury is placed in the eleventh house in Aries and Moon is placed in the tenth house in Pisces. All these planets are functionally benefic in this horoscope. Hence Vasumati Yoga may be formed in this case.

Once the formation of Vasumati Yoga is confirmed in a horoscope, the next factor to check is its strength. The strength of this yoga is calculated through the placements of planets involved in its formation in various signs, nakshatras and navamshas; as well as through the overall theme of horoscope and running times (Mahadashas).

Taking an example, suppose Jupiter is placed in the third house of a horoscope in Leo, in Cancer navamsha of Magha nakshatra. Mercury is placed in the eleventh house in Aries, in Virgo navamsha of Bharani nakshatra; and Moon is placed in the tenth house in Pisces, in Cancer navamsha of Poorvabhadrapada nakshatra. All these planets are strong in navamshas. Hence strong Vasumati Yoga may be formed.

Looking at the running times; when Mahadashas (planetary periods) of malefic planets are in effect; benefic effects of Vasumati Yoga may reduce. When Mahadashas of benefic planets other than the ones involved in the formation of this yoga are in effect; benefic effects of this yoga may increase. When Mahadashas of the planets involved in the formation of Vasumati Yoga are in effect; the native may witness maximum benefits through this yoga. For instance; in the recent example, the native may benefit the most during Jupiter Mahadasha, Mercury Mahadasha and Moon Mahadasha.

Shakat Yoga

Shakat Yoga is considered as a malefic yoga in Vedic astrology. According to its prevalent definition; if in a horoscope, Moon and Jupiter are placed in 6th and 8th houses with respect to each other, Shakat Yoga is formed in such horoscope. This yoga can trouble the native with problems related to finances, wealth, profession, health and many other things.

In real practice, Shakat Yoga is not seen producing such results when only the aforementioned condition is met. Hence more conditions should be met in order for this yoga to be formed effectively in a horoscope. Both Jupiter and Moon should be functionally malefic in such horoscope. If one of them is benefic and one of them is malefic; or if both of them are benefic, Shakat Yoga may not be formed in such horoscope.

Taking an example, suppose exalted Jupiter is placed in the ninth house of a horoscope in Cancer and Moon is placed in the second house in Sagittarius. Scorpio rises in the ascendant and Jupiter as well as Moon is benefic in the horoscope. Hence Shakat Yoga may not be formed in this case. On the contrary; such benefic placements may bless the native with good results related to finances, family, father, children, spiritual growth, profession, wealth and many other things.

Taking another example, suppose Jupiter is placed in the third house of a horoscope in Libra and Moon is placed in the eighth house in Pisces. Leo rises in the ascendant. Moon is duly malefic in the horoscope. Jupiter is partly benefic and partly malefic for horoscopes with Leo ascendant. Hence Shakat Yoga may be formed in this case and it may trouble the native with problems related to health, wealth, profession and a number of other problems. The concept of a planet being partly benefic and partly malefic has been explained in the book ‘Pitra Dosh – Ancestors are Calling (Revised Edition)’.

Once the formation of Shakat Yoga is confirmed in a horoscope, the next factor to check is its strength. The strength of this yoga is calculated through the placements of Jupiter and Moon in various signs, nakshatras and navamshas; as well as through the influences of other benefic and malefic planets on them. The overall theme of horoscope and running times (Mahadashas) also affect the strength of this Yoga.

Taking an example, suppose Jupiter is placed in the fifth house of a horoscope in Sagittarius, in Cancer navamsha of Moola nakshatra and exalted Moon is placed in the tenth house in Taurus, in Cancer navamsha of Rohini nakshatra. Both Jupiter and Moon are strong in their respective signs as well as in navamshas. Hence strong Shakat Yoga may be formed.

Looking at the running times; when Mahadashas (planetary periods) of benefic planets are in effect; malefic effects of Shakat Yoga may reduce. When Mahadashas of malefic planets other than Jupiter and Moon are in effect; malefic effects of this yoga may increase. When Mahadashas of Jupiter and Moon are in effect; the native may witness maximum damage due to Shakat Yoga.

According to prevalent definition of Raj Lakshana Yoga in Vedic astrology; if in a horoscope, Jupiter, Venus, Moon and Mercury are all placed in Kendra houses (1st, 4th, 7th and 10th), Raj Lakshana Yoga is formed in the horoscope. This Yoga can bless the native with good results related to health, beauty, money, wealth, prosperity, luxuries, reputation, fame and many other things.

In real practice, Raj Lakshana Yoga is not seen producing such good results when only the aforementioned condition is met. Hence some other condition should be met in order for this yoga to be formed effectively in a horoscope. Looking at this condition, at least three of these four planets should be functionally benefic in the horoscope under consideration for this yoga. If two or more than two of off these planets are functionally malefic in the horoscope; this yoga may not be formed.

Taking an example, suppose benefic Jupiter is placed in the tenth house of a horoscope in Scorpio and Mercury is placed in the first house in Aquarius along with Moon and benefic Venus. Moon is malefic in this horoscope. In general, Mercury is partly benefic and partly malefic in horoscopes with Aquarius ascendant. In this case, Raj Lakshana Yoga may not be formed in the horoscope though the primary condition is met. This is because two out of four planets are duly or partly malefic. The concept of a planet being partly benefic and partly malefic has been explained in the book ‘Pitra Dosh – Ancestors are Calling (Revised Edition)’.

Taking another example, suppose benefic Jupiter is placed in the first house of a horoscope in Pisces and benefic Mercury is placed in the seventh house in Virgo. Benefic Moon is placed in the tenth house in Sagittarius and malefic Venus is placed in the fourth house in Gemini. In this case, Raj Lakshana Yoga may be formed since three out of these four planets are benefic.

Considering another example, suppose benefic Mercury is placed in the tenth house of a horoscope in Gemini along with benefic Venus; and benefic Jupiter is placed in the seventh house in Pisces along with benefic Moon. In this case, an even better version of Raj Lakshana Yoga may be formed since all four of these planets are benefic.

Once the formation of Raj Lakshana Yoga is confirmed in a horoscope, the next factor to check is its strength. The strength of this yoga is calculated through the placements of planets involved in its formation in various signs, nakshatras and navamshas; as well as through the influences of other benefic and malefic planets on them. The overall theme of horoscope and running times (Mahadashas) also affect the strength of this Yoga.

Taking an example, suppose benefic Mercury is placed in the tenth house of a horoscope in Gemini, in Capricorn navamsha of Ardra nakshatra; along with benefic Venus in Taurus navamsha of Punarvasu nakshatra. Suppose benefic Jupiter is placed in the seventh house in Pisces, in Scorpio navamsha of Uttarabhadrapada nakshatra; along with benefic Moon in Cancer navamsha of Poorvabhadrapada nakshatra. In this case, all four planet are comfortable in their respective nakshatras and they are strong in navamshas. Hence strong Raj Lakshana Yoga may be formed.

Looking at the running times; when Mahadashas (planetary periods) of malefic planets are in effect; benefic effects of Raj Lakshana Yoga may reduce. When Mahadashas of benefic planets other than the ones involved in the formation of this yoga are in effect; benefic effects of this yoga may increase. When Mahadashas of the planets involved in the formation of Raj Lakshana Yoga are in effect; the native may witness maximum benefits through this yoga. For instance; in the recent example, the native may benefit the most during Mercury Mahadasha, Jupiter Mahadasha, Moon Mahadasha and Venus Mahadasha.
