Characteristics of Cancer

Cancer is taken as the fourth among 12 zodiac signs, in Vedic astrology. It is ruled by Moon. It features three nakshatras. The last quarter of Punarvasu, all four quarters of Pushya and all four quarters of Ashlesha nakshatra fall in this sign. This sign features 9 navamshas ranging from Cancer to Pisces. Cancer navamsha is ruled by Punarvasu, Leo to Scorpio navamshas are ruled by Pushya and Sagittarius to Pisces navamshas are ruled by Ashlesha nakshatra. Cancer represents water element and it is taken as a feminine sign.

Looking at characteristics of Cancer; it is a loving, caring, nurturing, serving, emotional, sensitive, moody, creative and intuitive sign. It also exhibits characteristics like psychic perception and forgiveness. Natives under its influence may be good at embracing the people they love; despite their flaws. They are generally concerned with home and everything related to the concept of making and running it. They may be good at finding pleasure in small things or mattes of day to day. Due to being emotional and sensitive; they may get hurt relatively easily though they may not take long to forgive. Mars finds maximum discomfort in this sign and hence it is debilitated in Cancer.
