However in the second case; the same amount of available energy has been divided into three parts. The first part is being consumed by your conscious mind to oppose this action, the second part is being consumed by your subconscious mind to fight and win over your conscious mind and the third part is being consumed by your heart to enjoy ice cream. Since the act of war between your conscious and subconscious mind is the primary act which decides whether or not you may have this ice cream; this act takes as much energy as is required. This is because if your subconscious mind loses this battle; you won’t be able to have this ice cream, and hence it has to win this battle; no matter how much energy is consumed in doing so.
Let’s simplify this equation by using numbers, so that it may be understood easily. The concept of how different entities within you may use different amounts of energy depending on their abilities and needs; has already been explained in an earlier part of this book. Suppose at this time; there are 100 units of extra energy available, which means it is the energy available after taking care of other activities happening at this time; like eating, digesting and breathing.
In the first case, all these 100 units may be used by your heart since there is harmony between your conscious and subconscious mind; and they both agree to let this energy go to your heart. As a result, all this energy is consumed by your heart, and hence you’re able to enjoy your ice cream, in the best possible way.
However in the second case, things are a lot different since there is a division of energy. Though there may be a number of combinations of division of this energy; depending on a number of variables; we’ll choose to go with a particular combination on random basis. Suppose your conscious mind consumes as much as 40 units of energy in opposing this decision. This leaves you with 60 units of available energy. Suppose another 42 units are consumed by your subconscious mind in order to fight your conscious mind over this issue and keep it under control.
It means that your heart may only avail 18 units of energy at the most, in this case. Since the amount of energy available to your heart has reduced about 5 times, plus there’s a war going on within you and this war also distracts you; you may not enjoy your ice cream much in this case. It should be noted that each one of your heart, your subconscious mind and your conscious mind may be capable of consuming 100 units of energy or even more, on their own. It means if there’s no conflict; each one of them is capable of using 100 units of energy or more.
However, since there are only 100 units of energy and all three of them want this energy for their own reasons; the amount of energy each one of them may be able to draw out of these 100 units depends on their relative strengths; on how badly they want this energy and on the relevance of the acts they’re engaging in. Before looking into these three factors; it should be noted that your conscious mind is using your intellect corrupted by your ego in this case, in order to do what it wants, and hence the amount of energy drawn by your conscious mind goes to your corrupted intellect.
Similarly, the amount of energy drawn by your subconscious mind is partly used in fighting your conscious mind or intellect and it is partly used to be forwarded to your heart, which is the remaining amount of energy. It should also be noted that in any given situation, only your conscious mind and subconscious mind have the ability to draw energy directly from your existence; and all other entities like heart, intellect, ego and conscience get this energy through one of these minds; depending on the situation.
For instance, in the present situation; your heart can get energy through subconscious mind; as it is the one which supports its wish whereas your corrupted intellect can get energy through your conscious mind; since it is the one which supports its wish. This equation may change and there may be times when your subconscious mind may support your intellect and your conscious mind may support your heart.
Let’s now look into the factors which decide the distribution of energy in this case. The factor which comes first in this case is the relevance factor. Kindly understand that there are two acts which are about to happen inside you when you’re trying to have ice cream for the second time. The first act is that of war between your conscious and subconscious mind; and the second act is the act of enjoying ice cream. Looking at which one of them is more relevant; it is easy to understand that the second act is dependent on the outcome of the first act and hence the first act is more important or relevant than the first act.
This is due to the reason that as long as your subconscious mind is not able to win over or suppress your conscious mind related to this issue; you may not have this ice cream to start with. As long as this war is taking place inside you; you’re waiting for the result; feeling all nervous and confused. It is only when your subconscious mind wins that you go ahead and ask for another portion of ice cream. If your conscious mind wins this battle for any reasons; you may simply not ask for a second portion of ice cream. Hence the first act is more relevant and accordingly; as much energy will be consumed by the entities engaging in this act; as much is required; of course out of the total available energy of 100 units.
It means that for the time being, your heart is out of the picture since all it can do is to wait for the outcome of this war and hope that your subconscious mind wins this war or controls this war. Hence 100 units of energy are to be divided between your subconscious and conscious mind; and this is when the second factor comes to the scene. This factor deals with how deeply these two entities want this energy. In order to understand this concept in an easy way; let’s take an example from real life.
