Article 169

Taking another example; suppose benefic Mercury is placed in the seventh house of a horoscope in Vigo, in Virgo navamsha of Chitra nakshatra; and benefic Jupiter is placed in the first house in Pisces, in Sagittarius navamsha of Revati nakshatra. Benefic Moon is placed in the fourth house in Gemini, in Taurus navamsha of Punarvasu; and benefic Mars is placed in the tenth house in Sagittarius, in Leo navamsha of Poorvashada nakshatra. Jupiter, Mercury and Mars are strong in their respective signs as well as navamshas. Moon may do very well in Taurus navamsha of Punarvasu nakshatra. Hence strong Raj Lakshana Yoga may be formed.

Let’s look at influences of other planets as well as the overall theme of horoscope on this yoga. Suppose in the same horoscope; malefic Sun and Venus are placed in the seventh house with Mercury, and malefic Saturn is placed in the first house in Pisces with Jupiter. Malefic Rahu is placed in the fourth house with Moon; and malefic Ketu is placed in the tenth house with Mars. All planets forming this yoga are afflicted by malefic planets. Hence the strength of this yoga may be reduced a lot and the native may not benefit much from it.

Let’s see what may happen when this yoga is influenced by benefic planets. Suppose Jupiter in the first house in Pisces, Mercury in the seventh house in Virgo, Mars in the tenth house in Sagittarius and Moon in the fourth house in Gemini form Raj Lakshana Yoga in a horoscope. Suppose benefic Rahu is placed in the second house in Aries, benefic Ketu is placed in the eighth house in Libra, Sun is placed in the sixth house in Leo, Venus is placed in the fifth house in Cancer; and Saturn is placed in the third house in Taurus.

Rahu and Ketu may add more strength to the horoscope. Sun, Saturn and Venus are malefic but they may not afflict any planet through conjunctions or direct aspects. Hence the overall horoscope may become strong and benefic. Therefore, the native may witness good results related to many spheres of his life. The spheres of profession, health, finances and wealth may benefit the most.

After this, the field of impact of this Yoga is checked. It is checked through the placements of planets involved in its formation in various houses of horoscope. In the recent example; Jupiter, Moon, Mercury and Mars are placed in the first, fourth, seventh and tenth house. Hence the primary and secondary benefits of such Raj Lakshana Yoga may reflect through the spheres of health, lifespan, personality, mother, father, children, love life, marriage, wife, husband, profession, finances, wealth, family, reputation, authority, fame, education, spiritual growth and a number of other spheres.
