Article 164

Taking another example, suppose benefic Jupiter is placed in the first house of a horoscope in Pisces, in Sagittarius navamsha of Revati nakshatra; and benefic Mars is placed in the tenth house in Sagittarius, in Aries navamsha of Moola nakshatra. Benefic Moon is placed in the fourth house in Gemini, in Taurus navamsha of Punarvasu nakshatra; and benefic exalted Mercury is placed in the seventh house in Virgo, in Virgo navamsha of Chitra nakshatra. Jupiter, Mars and Mercury are strong in their respective signs as well as navamshas. Moon may do very well in Taurus navamsha of Punarvasu nakshatra; within the sign of Gemini. Hence strong Chatussagara Yoga may be formed; which may bless the native with very good results related to many spheres of his life.

Let’s look at influences of other planets as well as the overall theme of horoscope on this yoga. Suppose in the same horoscope, malefic Saturn is placed in the first house in Pisces with Jupiter; and malefic Sun is placed in the seventh house in Virgo with Mercury. Saturn may afflict Jupiter as well as the first house and Sun may afflict Mercury as well as the seventh house. As a result, the strength of Chatussagara Yoga may be reduced significantly. Hence the native may not benefit a lot from this yoga.

Suppose malefic Rahu is placed in the fourth house in Gemini with Moon, malefic Ketu is placed in the tenth house in Sagittarius with Mars; and malefic Venus is placed in the ninth house in Scorpio. Rahu may afflict Moon as well as the fourth house; and Ketu may afflict Mars as well as the tenth house. Venus may afflict the ninth house and it may form Pitra Dosh in the horoscope. As a result, all planets involved in the formation of this yoga may get afflicted and the overall theme of horoscope may not remain positive, though it may still not become negative. Hence the native may not benefit much from this yoga and it may almost be cancelled out because of the malefic planets.

Let’s change the equation and see what happens when this yoga is influenced by benefic planets. Starting with the basic setup of Chatussagara Yoga; suppose benefic Rahu is placed in the tenth house of this horoscope in Sagittarius and malefic Ketu is placed in the fourth house in Gemini. Suppose exalted Saturn is placed in the eighth house in Libra, Sun is placed in the sixth house in Leo and debilitated Venus is placed in the seventh house in Virgo.

Sun is strong in Leo and it may not afflict any planet due to conjunctions or direct aspect. Venus is debilitated and Mercury is exalted in Virgo. Apart from that, this combination may receive a lot of positive energy from Jupiter in the first house, through direct aspect. Hence Venus may turn partly benefic and partly malefic. The concept of malefic planets turning benefic due to influences of benefic planets has been explained in Manglik Dosh section of the book ‘Match Making and Manglik Dosh (Revised Edition)’.

Jupiter forms Hamsa Yoga in the first house, Mercury forms Bhadra Yoga in the seventh house and the overall horoscope is strong as well as benefic. Hence Saturn may form Vimala Yoga in the eighth house. As the combined result of all these factors; the native may benefit even more from Chatussagara Yoga.

After this, the field of impact of this yoga is checked. It is checked through the placements of planets involved in its formation in various houses of horoscope. In the present example, benefic planets are placed in the first, fourth, seventh and tenth house. Hence the native may witness good results related to health, lifespan, personality, mother, education, properties, vehicles, marriage, husband, wife, reputation, fame, authority, finances, wealth and a number of other things.
