Article 139

Bhakoot (Moon Sign) carries 7 points or Gunas in the system of Gun Milaan. Different number of points are assigned for Bhakoot matching, based on how the Bhakoots of male and female match with each other; according to the rules of Gun Milaan.

Taking an example, suppose the Moon sign of the male native is Cancer and that of the female native is Gemini. For this calculation, Cancer is considered as the ascendant for the male native and Gemini is considered as the ascendant for the female native. In a horoscope with Cancer ascendant, Gemini falls in the twelfth house.

The male native may have to spend significant amounts of money in order to get the female native out of various types of problems. In this case, the female native may not spend more than usual and the male native may earn sufficient amount of money to meet their basic needs and then have some money to spare. However, he may have to spend such money time and again; towards the treatments of health issues her wife may suffer from time to time. Likewise, he may have to spend money in order to help the family members of female native; as they may face financial issues from time to time.

Looking at female’s horoscope; suppose benefic Moon is placed in the tenth house of her horoscope in Gemini. Virgo rises as the ascendant in this horoscope. Moon rules the eleventh house which represents financial gains and money among other things. The tenth house represents profession. Hence this female native is likely to be a professional and she may make good or very good amount of money through her profession; depending on the rest of her horoscope.

At the same time, if benefic Jupiter is also placed in the tenth house in Gemini; the equation may become even better. Jupiter rules the fourth and seventh house in this horoscope. Hence Jupiter is the general as well as specific signifier of marriage and husband in this case. The fourth house represents wealth and properties among other things.

Hence this combination indicates that this female native as well as her husband may earn very good amount of money through their respective professions and they may also accumulate significant amount of wealth through such money. Apart from that, the benefic combination of Moon and Jupiter in Gemini indicates a good or very good marriage; depending on the overall horoscope of this native. Though Bhakoot Dosh forms in this case; the results may be the opposites of those indicated by this defect.

As already discussed; the Moon sign of each native is considered as his or her ascendant; for the purpose of Bhakoot matching. If we consider Cancer as ascendant; Pisces falls in the ninth house. The ninth house represents religion, spiritual growth and higher philosophy. Hence this house is not much interested in producing children or attending to them; especially in attending to them. It means if the male native gets married to this female native; she may either not be interested in having children, she may not be able to produce children or she may not take good care of her children; depending on her overall horoscope.

However, the tendencies shown through Moon signs and Moon nakshatras are not the decisive ones and there are a number of factors in each horoscope, which may significantly or completely change these tendencies. Taking an example, suppose benefic Moon is placed in the first house of female native’s horoscope in Pisces. Moon rules the fifth house in this case and this house represents children among other things. Suppose benefic Mars is also placed in the first house in Pisces. Mars rules the second and ninth house in this horoscope. Moon and Mars form Chandra Mangal Yoga in this case.

Hence this benefic combination may enhance the significances of Moon as well as Mars and those of the first, second, fifth and ninth house. As a result, such female native may be fully capable of producing children. In fact, she may be more fertile than an average female; due to benefic influence of Chandra Mangal Yoga. Since Mars is an energetic and indulgent planet; such female native may exhibit strong tendencies to have more than one child and she may also be very much concerned about the wellbeing as well as general affairs of her children. Hence Bhakoot Dosh may not cause problems in this case, despite being formed during Gun Milaan.

Let’s look at this equation from the opposite angle. Suppose Moon is placed in the tenth house of female native’s horoscope in Pisces and Venus is placed in the sixth house in Scorpio. Gemini rises as the ascendant in this case. Moon rules the second house and Venus represents the fifth and twelfth house. The placement of Moon in the tenth house indicates that this native may have strong tendency to engage in profession and make more and more money through profession. Since Venus being the lord of the fifth house is placed in the sixth house which represents diseases, disputes, disagreements and arguments among other things; the couple may face problems related to children in this case.

Depending on the rest of her horoscope, various types of problems related to children may show up. Such female native may not wish to conceive for up to 3 to 5 years after her marriage as she may wish to focus on her career. Apart from that, she may wish to have only one child as she may see more children as obstacles for her professional success. Her husband may not agree with her choices and the couple may start having problems.

Looking at another probability, such female native may deliver one or two children but she may not pay much attention to them; primarily because of her engagement in profession. Her husband may have his own profession to attend to. Hence the children may not get the kind of attention they should. With time, issues related to children may create problems between the couple and such problems may become serious or very serious; depending on the overall horoscopes of these natives. In an extreme case of this type; the couple may get divorced and the husband may get the custody of children; on the grounds that their mother is incapable of attending to their needs.

Such female native may also face medical problems related to her reproductive system. Hence she may witness delay and complications related to child birth. Likewise, this horoscope may trouble this couple with other types of problems related to children; unless there are corrective planets in the horoscope of the female native. For example, if benefic Jupiter is placed in the fifth house of this horoscope in Libra; most of these problems may go away. The female native may now have more than one child and she may attend to them properly. This placement of Jupiter may also increase the quality of marriage.

Let’s look at Shadashtak Bhakoot Dosh. This is the most troublesome type of Bhakoot Dosh, among all three types. Suppose Moon is placed in Aries in male native’s horoscope and it is placed in Virgo in female native’s horoscope. In this case, Shadashtak Bhakoot Dosh is formed.

As already discussed; the Moon sign of each native is considered as his or her ascendant; for the purpose of Bhakoot matching. If we consider Aries as ascendant; Virgo falls in the sixth house. Likewise, if we consider Virgo as ascendant, Aries falls in the eighth house. Since both sixth and eighth house exhibit a number of troublesome characteristics; this match may create serious problems related to health, wellbeing, lifespan and happiness of the natives as well as those related to health and longevity of marriage.

In case of Dwi-Dwadash Bhakoot Dosh, one native may benefit and the other one may suffer. In case of Navam-Pancham Bhakoot Dosh, one native may not care what other native wants and hence; the other one may suffer. In both these cases; one of the partners is likely to suffer more or much more than the other one. However, in case of Shadashtak Bhakoot Dosh, both partners may create problems for each other. Hence both of them may suffer because of each other and the marriage may perform poorly.

In extreme cases when supported by overall horoscopes; Shadashtak Bhakoot Dosh may cause divorce or death of one partner. Even the divorce may not be finalized easily and much social and legal drama may happen before the marriage is finally dissolved. Apart from these problems; this type of Bhakoot Dosh may trouble the couple with diseases, disputes, mutual enmity and a number of other problems.

However, the tendencies shown through Moon signs and Moon nakshatras are not the decisive ones and there are a number of factors in each horoscope, which may significantly or completely change these tendencies. Taking an example, suppose benefic Moon is placed in the second house of male native’s horoscope in Aries and benefic Moon is placed in the seventh house of female native’s horoscope in Virgo. In both these horoscopes; Pisces rises as the ascendant.

Hence the male native is under strong influence of Mars through Aries; and Jupiter through Pisces ascendant. The female native is under strong influence of Mercury through Virgo; and Jupiter through Pisces ascendant. Though the lords of the Moon signs of these natives (Mars and Mercury) have bad equation between them; Jupiter introduces a common platform. Though these natives may face problems because of characteristics of their Moon sign lords; they may find a friendly interface due to characteristics of Jupiter. Hence the aspect of Bhakoot Dosh; which creates disputes and disagreements between these two natives may significantly reduce.

Benefic Moon represents the fifth house in both these horoscopes. In female’s horoscope, it is placed in the seventh house. This placement of Moon may help the couple develop mutual friendship. Such friendship and the bond of family may become even stronger after this couple has children; since Moon rules the fifth house which represents children. This placement of Moon also promotes health and lifespan of her husband.

In male’s horoscope, Moon is placed in the second house which deals with family and wealth among other things. Hence this placement of Moon may help the couple with building and maintaining family. Suppose benefic exalted Mercury is placed in the seventh house in Virgo in this horoscope. This placement of benefic exalted Mercury promotes health and lifespan of his wife. The combined effect of all these benefic factors in both these horoscopes suggests a healthy family as well as friendliness between the natives. Hence Shadashtak Bhakoot Dosh may not trouble this couple.

Let’s look at this equation from the opposite angle. Suppose Moon is placed in the first house of male native’s horoscope in Aries and it is placed in the first house of female native’s horoscope in Virgo. The lords of ascendants for both natives are same as the lords of their Moon signs. Hence the male native may be under strong influence of Mars whereas the female native may be under strong influence of Mercury. As a result, the couple may face serious issues related to mental compatibility and the marriage may break; unless the rest of their horoscopes save their marriage. Hence Bhakoot Dosh may cause significant damage in this case.

If malefic Mars forms Manglik Dosh in the horoscope of female native in the seventh house in Pisces and Jupiter is placed in the eighth house in Aries; the equation may become even more troublesome. Her husband may die in an accident or due to a fatal disease; unless his own horoscope is strong enough to protect his lifespan. If his horoscope is favorable for lifespan, divorce may happen. However, as a long as the marriage continues; the male native may suffer from accidents, injuries and health issues; from time to time. As long as the male native lives with this female native; his life and health may be under threat.
