Manglik Dosh in First House

                                   Many Vedic astrologers believe that when Mars is placed in the first house of a horoscope, a Manglik dosh is formed in the horoscope where the first house is taken as the house of the sign ascending at the time of the birth of the native and it is commonly known as the Ascendant in a horoscope. For example if Aries is the sign which was rising at the time of birth of a native, then Aries is written in the first house of horoscope and it is known as the Ascending sign or Ascendant of that horoscope and the other houses are numbered according to the placement of the signs from Aries onwards, in a cyclic order. Coming back to Manglik dosh in the first house, the above mentioned prevalent definition of Manglik dosh is not sufficient on its own to confirm the formation of Manglik dosh in the first house of a horoscope and there are some other conditions which should be met in a horoscope for the confirmation of the Manglik dosh in the first house of the horoscope. The first one of these conditions is that the working of the Mars should be negative in the horoscope in question, as a positively working Mars does not make Manglik dosh in any house of the horoscope including the first house and on the contrary, a positively working Mars may form a Manglik Yog in some particular houses of a horoscope including the first house. The effects of a Manglik yog are opposite to that of a Manglik Dosh and a Manglik yog is capable of bringing very good results for the marital life of the native unlike Manglik dosh which brings delays, problems and troubles in the marriage and marital life of the native under its influence.

                                 Therefore, Mars should be working negatively in a horoscope for the formation of a Manglik dosh in the first house of that horoscope. The next condition is that Mars should be actively making the defect known as Manglik dosh and it should not be placed in passive or inactive mode in the first house of a horoscope. It should be noted here that not all the planets whether good or bad, placed in various houses of the horoscope make good yogas or defects and many planets are usually placed passively in a horoscope, whether their nature is positive or negative in a horoscope and accordingly these planets do not make any Yog or defect in that horoscope. Passively placed planets in a horoscope do not cause many troubles in case they are negative, though they are likely to bring some disturbances to the native, at their relative times but such problems are usually much lesser in quantum as compared to the troubles caused by the active negative planets which keep on bothering the natives with increased frequency and much more intensity as compared to the passively placed negative planets. After the confirmation of these two conditions, the strength of Manglik dosh is checked as this dosh is likely to cause troubles of different quantum and intensity depending upon the strength of this dosh in the horoscope. In the next step, the placement of Mars in some particular sign and nakshatra is considered and accordingly the damage may vary from horoscope to horoscope. For example, a negative Mars in the first house of a horoscope, placed in the sign of Capricorn or Scorpio is likely to cause much more damage than a negative Mars in the first house of a horoscope, placed in the sign of Cancer or Pisces due to the different influence of different signs on Mars. Likewise, a negative Mars in the first house of a horoscope, placed in Moola nakshatra is capable of doing much more damage than a negative Mars in the first house of a horoscope, placed in Punarvasu or Pushya nakshatra.

                                    In the next step, any influence of positive or negative planets on Mars is checked as the influence of positive planets on Mars in the first house can reduce the bad effects of Manglik dosh whereas the influence of negative planets on Mars in the first house can further increase the strength of Manglik dosh or it can add more variety to the damage caused by Manglik dosh. For example if negative Mars placed in the first house of a horoscope receives a positive and strong aspect of a benefic Jupiter from ninth or fifth house, the strength of the Manglik dosh is reduced and accordingly the damage done by this defect is limited whereas a strong and negative aspect of a malefic or negative Jupiter from the same houses can significantly increase the quantum of damage done by Manglik dosh which will further depend on the sign of placement of such negative Jupiter and the overall strength and negativity of Jupiter in the horoscope. It can be easily concluded from the above discussion that confirming the presence of a Manglik dosh in a horoscope merely by virtue of placement of Mars in the first house of a horoscope is not sufficient and there are many other factors present in the horoscope which should be analyzed carefully and thoroughly before predicting a Manglik dosh in the first house of a horoscope. And after analyzing all of the above mentioned aspects in a horoscope, if a Manglik dosh is found present in the first house, let’s discuss the kind of problems it can bring to the married life of the native as well as some other important spheres of the native’s life.

                             Manglik dosh present in the first house of the horoscope is generally a cause of concern for the health of the native, professional life of the native as well as the general reputation and status of the native since the primary impact of the Manglik dosh in this case will be on the first house and as we know that first house is undoubtedly the most important house of the horoscope, so the Manglik dosh in the first house is capable of doing much more damage than the Manglik dosh present in any other house. And before continuing with this discussion, it should be noted here that Manglik dosh present in a horoscope affects the significances of the house it occupies, with the most strength. Continuing with the discussion, Manglik dosh present in the first house of a horoscope is undoubtedly capable of doing more damage than Manglik dosh present in any other house of the horoscope though Manglik dosh in the first house is not the most problematic Manglik dosh for the marriage and marital life of a native. Manglik dosh in the first house of a horoscope affects health, profession and status of the native more than the marriage and married life of the native which is the secondary target of Manglik dosh in the first house of the horoscope. The native suffering from this type of Manglik dosh is also likely to have problems in his married life which may differ in quantum from horoscope to horoscope depending upon the variation in the above mentioned factors of a horoscope. It is however worth noticing here that Manglik dosh in the first house of a horoscope usually does not cause much delay in the marriage of the native unless this dosh is supported by some other defect present in the horoscope of the native, and this defect is also not likely to cause problems like widowhood and divorce in most of the cases.

                                    Therefore the natives suffering from a Manglik dosh in the first house of their horoscopes are not likely to face problems of extreme quantum or intensity in the field of marriage and they are likely to face serious problems on some other fronts of their life. A native under the influence of this type of Manglik dosh can also suffer on account of health problems, disturbed peace of mind, having to stay away from home for long periods of time on account of profession or something else, frequent arguments and disputes with the partner inside the place of residence, and a separation from the partner for some period of time though this separation is not likely to convert into a divorce in most of the cases. The native under the influence of Manglik dosh in the first house of his horoscope can also face problems related to the health of his partner which may include mild to serious health problems suffered by the partner and which may vary depending upon the overall tone of the horoscope of the partner though Manglik dosh in the first house does give some indications about some health related issues to the partner. The native is also likely to suffer from injuries on account of accidents and he may have to undergo operations or surgeries a few times during his lifetime. The native is also likely to suffer from financial losses at times and the Manglik dosh present in the first house also affects the overall lifespan of the native in a negative way though this defect in the first house is not capable of reducing the lifespan of the native to a great extent but it can still cause some reduction in the lifespan of the native.

                                         To summarize, Manglik dosh present in the first house of the horoscope should be properly checked for its presence, strength and its interaction with the other planets in the horoscope and even if this defect is found to be formed in a horoscope, it is not one of the most problematic Manglik doshas in regards to the marriage and married life of the native though it can hit some other important spheres of a native’s life with great strength.
